Isn't it interesting that Canadians would rather elect corrupt Liberal and Conservative governments than the NDP?

In other words, "Yes, the two parties are corrupt, but there's no way in hell we're giving the NDP a shot!"

That's hilarious!

Far more hilarious is witnessing the slow, political self-destruction of this nasty collection of Con bumpkins.

Hey, Toro, why don't you tell everybody how you lied about Tommy Douglas to get the corrupt and incompetent Devine government elected?

I know what you bastards bring. You almost bankrupted Saskatchewan because of your stupidity and greed. You asked someplace on here why I moved to Manitoba. The answer is because myopic pig-fuckers like you boned the province so bad that I had no choice.

Of course you ran off to Florida as quick as you could, a red-necked coward.

"Red-neck?"

Blair, I'm far more educated, urbane, talented, better-paid, not to mention better looking and better dressed, than you. Nor am I a homophone who has made disparaging comments about another persons sexuality, nor have I ever threatened another poster with violence, and nor have I wished rape on another poster's daughters. Besides, I don't care much for Nascar. So I don't think the red-neck label applies.

But, really, Blair, aren't you behaving a little childish for someone on the wrong side of 40? I mean, really, do you always explode in a fit of personal pique when someone merely points out the obvious, or is this your way of ducking the question? Tsk, tsk.

Since I had no intention of making this personal - unlike you apparently - tell us why Canadians would rather vote in a "corrupt" Tory party after they've thrown out a corrupt Liberal party who had previously replaced a corrupt Tory party after Canadians had become tired of a corrupt Liberal party, etc., etc., etc., rather than elect the un-corruptible NDP? I mean, that must just wreak havoc on your ego when others would rather choose crooks and liars over you.

Toro:

A reminder that I've been to Prince Albert and know many people from there. You can try to hide behind whatever you wish, but your neck is as red as ever.

By the way, I'm on the right side of forty, and nobody from my side of of the political spectrum ever shot a man for being a little too red when they walked into his store.

Tell me, Toro, you fucking redneck, do you hate blacks as much as you hate Indians now that you're in Florida, and where do Cubans fit into that, or does it depend on the colour of their skin?

Okay, now give your, "I'm not a racist" whine, Toro. I need a giggle.

Trev:

I'm not flaming this idiot. It's just that I know where he's from. Check into Prince Albert, the KKK, and the Reform Party if you doubt me.

Yes, yes, yes Blair. Every single person who comes from PA is a racist who shoots Indians, just like everyone in the South hates blacks who shoots them too. I'll ask my old Cuban neighbor who used to head the state utility commission if I have been racist enough to him. Perhaps I'll shoot him today.

"'I'm not a racist', whine!" God gosh Blair, I would never do that. I have taught at a historically black University where the enrollment is 90% black today. Also, most everyone I have ever hired has been black. I have hired more black kids than anyone in my organization, including more than the black people with whom I work. Many of the black kids I hired as interns have gone onto Wall Street - JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, that sort of thing - partly because I gave them real, live hands-on training. Got an email from one of my interns who will be entering the Harvard MBA program this fall. Saw another of my interns featured in Black Enterprise magazine earlier this year. But deny that I was a racist? Never!

What University did you teach at, Blair? How many Indians/blacks/Cubans have you hired?

"Bastards," "pig-fuckers," "redneck," "coward," "idiot" "I'm not flaming" Whew, good to see you're not flaming Blair.

Now, back to the issue at hand. This is a serious question that you have not answered, preferring to "not flame".

Since you've established beyond a reasonable doubt that Harper is corrupt and the worst Canadian ever, why do they continue to lead the NDP in the polls? Why would more Canadians rather have liars and crooks run the country than the NDP?

Look, you god damned redneck, you decided to go trolling in the NDP section. Don't expect me to put up with your crap. You told me that you lied to get Devine elected. You thought that was funny. Now you're here trying to defend Harper, another corrupt conservative. You used to support Bush too. Hey, good track record. Tell me, is it the corruption or the incompetence that attracts you to these guys?

I never said that everybody in P.A. was racist either. It's just that the link between P.A. conservatives and racism has been so thick since the formation of the Reform Party. If you hang out with racists and help to elect racists, then guess what, little buddy? You get tagged as being a racist.

Now go back to whatever hole you crawled out of.

I do not live in a hole. I live on an acreage inside city limits, a five minute drive from work, beside a stream and a pond with lots of trees at back. Its a nice place.

Trolling? I'll have you know that when I was a teenager, I once had a coke with Roy Romanow in his living room. I quite liked Roy, and would have voted for him in 1995. Also, I've always found the NDP fascinating. As opposed to the other two political parties in Canada, the NDP has been as much of a movement than a traditional political party, and ideas have always interested me, even when I don't agree with them. That is why I attended a few NDP conventions in my youth. I've found many New Democrats to be intelligent, interesting and engaging people. At least those who aren't walking around in a fog of rage.

Besides, intelligent and introspective New Democrats would ask the question I am asking - and one that you are not answering BTW. If Harper is as evil and corrupt as you say, why are Canadians willing to elect him Prime Minister, even with a minority government, before they'd elect the NDP?

Can you answer the question without making ad hominem attacks? Or just answer the question? Or anyone besides Blair?

Your very question is an ad hominem attack. Considering the two major parties have gone out of their way to brand the NDP as communists, lied about the NDP fiscal record (in the provinces where they've been elected it's better than the Conservatives or Liberals), and generally worked overtime to discredit the NDP (by doing things like going door to and telling the lie that Tommy Douglas would be a Conservative if he were alive), you should be asking how the NDP is as successful as it is.

There's also the lack of money, a right-leaning press that seldom gives the NDP equal time, corporate disinformation campaigns, the tendency of the Liberals to run from the left and rule from the right. There are a lot of factors involved.

I've met Romanow as well, Toro. He's married to my father's cousin. Don't go thinking you're all special. You'll notice that he made time to sit down and talk to you though. The party you support won't answer questions and will only talk to its partisans.

I asked you a question once. I wanted to know why you economists never wanted to put a price on the damage that you did to the environment. You couldn't answer it. In the end you claimed it was an externality and I wouldn't understnd the formula, or some equally lame excuse.

Here's what you conservatives, in your arrogance and greed, will never understand. The air we breathe is not an externality. The climate is not an externality. A much better economist than you will ever be did put a price on global warming. Conservatives have been trying to dodge that report ever since.

The thing is that those of us who don't celebrate greed knew instinctively that the cost of global warming was very high a long time ago. Unlike those of you who celebrate greed and ignorance, we saw that the bill was coming due. Conservatives always stick somebody else with the bill though. No wonder you think the environment is an externality.

That's the difference between the NDP and the Liberals and Conservatives, Toro. We pay our bills.

Which brings us back to Harper's corruption. I thought that Harper would actually do something to solve corruption. I figured it was the one thing that he would do. So did a lot of people. He's been screaming about government needing to be open and accountable for decades.

That's why the NDP, especially Pat Martin, worked so hard on the Accountability Act. Now what do we get? A scandal a month, a lie everytime Harper or one of his ministers speaks, patronage appointments, hidden spending, back room deals, smear campaigns, a complete lack of accountability, cancelled committee meetings, ministers lying to committees and on the floor of the House, intimidation of public servants...all happening under the most secretive, least accountable government I've ever seen. The act passed, but Harper is dragging his feet on instituting anything that amounts to more than a partisan attack on the Liberals.

These are the people you support, Toro. You should be apologizing, not questioning the NDP.
