How do I join the Christian Labour Association of Canada or CLAC? I live in Hamilton ontario and have a pipefitter ticket.

better benifits better pay more shops signed up making a better choice for work selection.

Compare a CLAC contract to a UA contract and you will see that CLAC settles for less on average $10-$15 an hour less.

Well a UA union wont do you any good in Alberta which is mostly Clac and Merit benefits. Settling for $10.00 or $15.00 less? I'll call bullshit on that one.Been union allmost 30 years so Iknow a bit about the wages and history of them.

You sound like fresh union meat.

I,ve been Clac on and off the last 4 years and aside from Merit benefits I have allways negotiated my own wage.Same with most pipeline work in Alberta.

The OE used to have a rate that literally put them out of work in the pipeline industry and bankrupt a few huge companies.Their one of the reasons Clac got so popular.

Ontario is a lot different the Alberta and I think pipefitter said he is living in hamilton. If I was him I would not be going to Alberta with all the work that is here.

There is no need to leave Ontario, if he is a fitter there is piles of work here for the next five years.
