Cabin fever is inevitable but we live in Canada and winter is a part of our lives so we need to make the most of it. Today was an absolutely glorious sunny (but still cold) day to enjoy some fun activity outdoors.

And that's just what we were doing today, sitting on the deck enjoying the singing of the first Robbins of the year. I notice they had a strange look on their faces, 8O as if they were wondering what the hell they were doing here so early.

A family and dog enjoy sledding this February[/align]

Star staff has pulled together a multitude of events sure to keep the little ones busy — and give you a rest — during the week long holiday.

IF ARTS ARE YOUR THING:
Tap into your child's inner filmmaker by checking out the National Film Board's animation workshop, Talespinners. Kids aged 6 to 13 will watch a short film and then unleash their creativity in the studio, putting together their own stop-motion animated film. There are at least two presentations of perennial favourite Robert Munsch's books, at Solar Stage Children's Theatre and Lorraine Kimsa Theatre for Young People.

Things to do at home
If you can't face the slushy roads, or you procrastinated so long that everything's booked, here are some things to keep your kids entertained at home (without turning on the TV).

March Break: Frugal fun events
Don't spend a cent while your kids have fun and learn something new during the school break.

March Break: Indoor fun
Get fit, have fun and stay dry and warm while participating in one of these events indoors.

March Break: Outdoors activities
Don't become couch potatoes. Stay active over the March Break and have fun getting fit.

March Break: Attractions
Now is the time to check out all of the cool places around the GTA you've been meaning to explore for years.

March Break: Theatre
Choose from an array of shows, including musicals, drama and dance.

March Break: Libraries
Do more than check out books at the events hosted at libraries around the city.

March Break: Outside the GTA
Maple sugar demonstrations and winter frivolity lurk a short drive outside of the GTA.

March Break: Parks and recreation
The city is offering free programs and extended hours on some of its services.
