anybody notice Kenmore is the only ass kissing Dion Liberal posting on this thread?

Thats one of many faces in Canada that cant admit that they are complete idiots.

As of in the Ottawa Sun this morning:

- In year one the cost of filling a 20lbs. propane tank for a barbecue would increase by 24 cents. By year four, the cost would go up by 95cents.

- In year one the cost of heating an average home with heating oil will go up by 50$ per year or $4.20 per month. By year four the costs would go up by $203 or $16.95 per month.

- In year one the cost of heating an average home with natural gas would go up by as much as $66.50 per year or $5.54 per month. By year four that rises to as much as $266 per year or $22.16 per month.

- No tax on diesel in year one but by year four it would be 7 cents per liter increasing the annual cost of an average truck`s freight by $1.700.

----

Tax cuts for Canadians:
- A new universal child tax benefit worth $350 per child.

- The $1000 employment credit would be replaced with a refundable $1,850 credit for those earning $50,000 or more.

- The disability tax credit would become refundable

- Every rural tax filer would get $150 per year rising to $200 per year as a rural tax credit.

- $600 Guaranteed income Supplement for Seniors each year.

I dont know about you, but me as a middle class income citizen, im being ROYALY fucked.

Simply put, Canadians will pay more for everything. Every apple you eat, every jug of milk you buy, and every pack of hamburger will go up in price. And then there's the cost on things where you will be hit twice or more such as plastics because refiners will get hit when making poly ethylene, then the manufacturers of the product will get hit and to top it off the freight company who delivers the final product will also get hit. All these prices will be passed down to consumers all thanks to the Liberal party of Canada.

Dion can chirp on all he wants about how everyone is gonna save big money but anyone with half a brain can see this thing is going to cost the average consumer big bucks.

There is no way of knowing exactly what the cost will finally be because each product will be hit in so many ways it's all most imposable to predict the final mark up but you can bet your wallets it will hurt.

*Oh and on the issue of the fuel tax not being increase, what exactly does Dion think is going to happen when you hit these oil companies with this carbon tax? Are they just going to dig into ther own pockets and hand over the money required for extraction and refinning? HA! Get ready for $2.00 / liter gas folks.

Where is this 40-page document? I checked thegreenshit.ca and couldn't find anything resembling a plan.

There is a 44 page document, I think you can find it at thegreenshift.ca.

I've all ready read it and it's just a bunch of glossed over BS.

One thing here Kenmore, can you give me a quote from that document that shows how much of reduction in green house gasses we can expect from this new tax? Or a quote that shows the specific target for reduction?

No? I didn't think so because that's the biggest problem with this whole thing. This green plan of Dion's is suppose to reduce green house gasses but no where in that document does it say what reduction targets are or by how much they will be reduced by implementing this bizarre plan. What the hell kind of environmental plan is this that it doesn't have any targets or expectations placed on reductions?

"People will naturally use less if it costs more" is what I keep hearing from Dions crew. Well that’s great and they're right that people will use less. But what happens then? You've replaced a consistent income tax revenue with a tax revenue that in it's own nature should diminish as people curb their usage. Where does the money come from to fund this program and to generate federal revenue after people start using less?

Well for starters the Liberals will reverse the GST cut (Dion already said he would do this), maybe even boost it past 7% who knows...

Maybe its because the url is http://www.thegreenshift.ca and not http://www.thegreenshit.ca However greenshit may have been more appropriate.

Simply click on "read the plan", then click on "read the green hift handbook"

Clicking on "read the handbook" should open a 48 page PDF file.

Heard on the radio that harper said it would "Screw Canadians just like the NEP did." Brilliant move. Plain and clear language, and associating it with the NEP is perfect. It reminds us that this program will cost millions and do nothing, just like the NEP.

We’ve taken up. And we will keep

it is good to critise it and think the fact dion's plan closely resembles what the conservative pre-attack ads said it was about adds to there credibility that it is in fact a bad idea .
