I'm still wondering what Mustang is looking for us to comment about.
It's a phone poll of 1000 people asking questions we don't know, we rely on the polling company to tell us the results and the paper to report them fairly.
Based on the above house of cards, you'd like us to try and prove their wrong?

I don't know, say, what it means? How it translates electorally? What, if any, evidence you possess to suggest it's not accurate? How's it's relevant to the current Canadian political climate? Historically, how does this impact voters?

Anything other than the banal, parroted, mindless, partisan hackery that only comes from those that actually know very little about Canadian politics. And, no, Xeroxing an online blog, article, wiki, google doesn't render you knowledgeable.

Isn't it the job of the person making the claim to prove the point, or has it suddenly become acceptable to simply post an aticle and run away? Shouldn't derby or you, since you're taking a side, be proving to us skeptics how this poll was accurate and reflects the views of the voters?

Wrong. And we see if, in the future, you follow your own advice (i seriously doubt it, but i'll be on the look-out). Where exactly did I take Derb's side? I was taking issue with the follow ups that responded with nothing other than mindless partisan hackery and banal Xeroxing. The onus isn't on me to prove the poll's significance, it squarely falls on those that find fault with it (the ones you suspiciously omitted here).

Oh...and I noticed how you proved my observations correct by responding with nothing of relevancy in regards to the post.

Here's a couple of quick questions regarding your own professed ideology (even though you likely have NO idea as to its philosophical particulars)

Who is the most influential "conservative" of the last 200 years?

What is the basic "conservative" perspective on society?

Let the dodging begin!

Again, it's a bogus on-line poll with no details other than the results which may have been chosen from cat entrails as accurately as through the mystics ways of polster. I know you'd love for us to try and refute it on a factual basis but that's not going to happen because we both know that's a mugs game.

On line polls from any party are just as bogus so please don't assume that I'm being partisan here.

And you are wrong. Derby is posting this story without coments so we are to assume that he believes this to be accurate. Since he's not here to comment, do you believe this is an accurate poll, and if so, why?

Why is it a "bogus" online poll? I'm assuming you have indiepend evidence to support this, right? I hope this isn't just your opinion.

Huh? "The latest Canadian Press Harris-Decima poll finds that a bruising session in Parliament - along with a perceived values gap on the environment - has cost the Tories crucial ground with Quebec voters and urban women." How is this a solely Liberal poll?

You're commenting on Derby's posting after this, current-events-f59/re-enactment-of-plains-of-abraham-battle-not-appreciated-t65372.html?!?!? The best commentary you could muster was, "HAHAHA. We should make it a national holliday where we all get to punch little Frenche dolls and toast how much better the English were." Sorry, you have zero currency in the chastising department.

No, others post stories they think are worthy of displaying here to share with the rest of the board without feeling the need to add their own (sophomoric in your case) editorializations to every one.

Personally, I think that the person who submitted a story should be barred from making the first comment.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. Posting a newslink shouldn't be a substitute for starting a thread in the forum.

What was the question? We don't know.
Where were these 1000 people? We don't know.

Unless you or Derby want to answer those questions, we really can't debate if this poll was accurate or not. Derby is the one, we assume, standing by the accuracy of this poll, so the burden of proof relies on him.

You can dig for CPC polls as for Liberal ones and you'll see, although I may have posted them, I definately won't stand for their accuracy. It's a mugs game and polls that don't get the answers they paid for are never seen.

As for my post.. you have no room to talk. By omission, you leave out my next post:

with the intention of painting me some racist. You go on in that thread with you're usual childish banter, demanding this fellow prove similarities to Hitler and all manor of other things.. and I see you're doing that here too.

Sorry. Untill you or you're alter ego Derby flesh out this hollow claim with some details, you'll get nothing more from me.

.. except to continue to post so you can't claim victory by getting the last word in. XD

Talk about sensitive - i never once intimated or outright suggested that you were being a racist. It was an illustration of you inability to craft a decent follow-up post to your own thread. This was evidence of hypocrisy and incompetence, not racism or bigotry, so park the emotional rhetoric.

And i'm glad an uneducated hypocrite like you sees it fit to comment on my posts. You're a first-rate intellectual coward - you know nothing about Canadian politics, little about ideology, squat about government, yet you shoot your pedestrian mouth off all the time.

I have it on just as accurate and reliable information that 76.39% think differently, 9 times out of 10 on the same ouiji board that the Libs talked to Cadman on.

The poll's methodology appears to be sound, although there is always the remote possibility that the numbers are off. Beyond that, you have no reason to suspect that the polling firm deliberately manipulated the numbers. Claiming that they did is just partisan - or paranoid - nonsense.

You've got it backwards: You're the one making the assertion that the poll is inaccurate and that the poll's numbers were deliberately fudged: As Mustang has already suggested, the onus is on you to back up your assertion.

You're the one running on desperation here:

Hmm...big shock, no commentary on the actual article and the response is cut n' paste with empty partisan rhetoric. How truly provocative.

Following a relivent and conflicting poll.

Why is his poll post wrong and Derby's right?

I'm quite safe here saying that polls of this nature are bogus and innacurate but you chose one over the other so I'm sure we'd all like to hear, in you're pedantic and smug little ways, you'res is right and MBTR's is wrong.

Do please go on.. we have all night.
