It's satire, and Obama himself has no comment. Leave it be.

It's absolutely satire and New Yorker readers like myself see it easily unlike, it would seem, the humourless Obama staffers.
Hell, I bet they wouldn't even get the cartoons in the New Yorker either.

Dont worry its satire the New Yorker staff is a exstention of the Obama campaign staff.
Just like all of the other media outlets are also.

But if YOU read what I wrote (I said Obama HIMSELF, not his "people") and what the article said: Quote: “Have you seen it? If not, I can show it to you on my computer. It shows your wife Michelle with an Afro and an AK 47 and the two of you doing the fist bump with you in a sort of turban-type thing on top. I wondered if you’ve seen it or if you want to see it or if you have a response to it?”
Obama, shrugging incredulously: “I have no response to that.” Like I said. Obama himself has no comment.

New York votes Democrat. Satirical or non-satirical 'issues' notwithstanding.

I've seen the image. I don't understand what's funny about it.
belittle and dehumanise that which you do not understand

What's funny is that it contains all of the baseless smears the right have trying to pin on Obama and his wife for some time now. It's funny because the caricature shows just how silly those attempts are.
From left to right: 1. His wife is a militant black nationalist 2. Fist bumps are actually terrorist greetings 3. Obama is a secret muslim 4. Obama hates America (hence the flag in the fireplace) 5. Lastly, Obama sounds a lot like Osama which, in the minds of the right, means they're one and the same.

It might be easy for the Obama supporters to simply dismiss this but for many others, these are still important questions and this may have played into their hands. It's a provocative cover and maybe just too provocative? The cover artist was canadian too. Here's the first counter-cartoon I've seen.

Well, obviously it was offencive. But really, it just shows how offencive the extreme right in America are being and it's bringing light to the ridiculousness of their claims.
I'm not really sure what to say about it. I think it's fine. Not really funny, but I understand what they mean by the cover.
