Why not, THEY employ it. Why can't we? Works both ways, doesn't it?
I had already explained in another post that a relative of mine from Scotland cannot get into Canada BECAUSE SHE IS WHITE. Her own lawyer told her that, and he was not even white.
Brenda is pretty white.

Yeah, pretty much European too! The lawyer who told her that is talking bull. She might want to read up on immigration too. But, hey, ya need skills! And points! Takes a while though, to get into Canada...
Then again, it is a right, not a priviledge

Interesting that a member of the peoples who BUILT this country, and FOUNDED it, cannot get into Canada, yet those who had absolutely NOTHING to do with Canada are able to just walk in, and have everything handed to them on a gold platter. This needs to be addressed, and changed. All those of British descent should be granted INSTANT citizenship.
She can get into Canada. IF she has the skills needed She just needs to fill out the forms, pay, make sure she has enough cash, and wait patiently, like every other skilled worker.

I know I play the white card all the time... ummm... yeah, immigration to Canada is a privilege not a right, all those of British decent who want in can apply just like all those of Russian decent, and Dutch decent and even French decent, this sense of entitlement is really part of the problem. I'm of Irish decent, should I be able to demand the right to British or Irish citizenship? no, I can apply just like eveyone else, and if I get in, great, if not then I've some work to do.

Brenda, did you get everything on a gold plate when you immigrated here?

[sarcasm]Of course! I got immediate healthcare, I got subsidy to rent a house, I got my new glasses for free, my dentist bills are paid for, the government doesn't care about foreign taxes, so we got instant child tax benefits[/sarcasm]
The truth is, that my kids, who didn't speak a word of English, did not get ESL classes (which Canada says to provide) because there was no money for that in this part of the country. We are a year on the road, and they do exactly the same things in school as the rest of the kids, and they cope fine.
I get NO handouts (nor do I want to, btw) other than any other resident gets, if they apply.
I pay for everything myself, down paid 35% on my house, because as an immigrant without Canadian credit history, you are not eligble for a mortgage, unless you downpay at least 35%. The first 3 months we were not covered for healthcare.
Now I would like to see WHAT gold platter Saxon is talking about, and that I missed...

in addition... Try to get a credit card without a credit history Now I have myself put on a DNC-list because I am sick and tired of phonecalls from creditcard companies, but when we needed it? Sorry, you might have $ 100K in the bank, you are NOT gonna get a creditcard!

now i'm thinking that, immigration is not a right, not a privilege, but a crime.
yes, it is a crime.
the immigration lawyers are selling something that doesn't even belong to them. if you are selling other people's property, isn't that theft, isn't that crime?
what's more, does the immigration dept.(or ministry of immi.) have the authority to give away immigration visas/ permanent residencies to people who have never ever set foot on the soil of Canada?
is that a violation of the constitution or the charter of rights?
as to the British question. isn't Canada still a British Colony? if not, what is the Governor General all about? if not, why do they print something on the Canadian Passport, that a Canadian can go to a British Consulate to seek help when there is no Canadian consulate nearby?
isn't it strange while a Canadian has the right to claim assistance from the British government, British people don't have any privilege in Canada?

Immigration lawyers are nothing more than overpaid administrative clerks

For me, first rule that should be changed: Adult children should apply for their own visa. No need for any parent to sponsor their grown up children anyway. That is what you did when you raised them.
what a complete nonsense , what if a family from where ever at this globe would like to come to Canada and take there adult children with them? I don't see the problem.
Apply for the visa at the same time, just like now? Do you have ANY clue how it works?
Hey Brenda, believe me I know how things work. You say adult children should apply for their own visa that means that a family with grown ups could not apply as a family like they do now, but the kids should do that them selfs. I think your wrong here.

well, some of you guys.. i don't want to judge you but please stop personal attacks, you are so pathetic, personal attack and swearing have become your last resort.
to ArcMenace: i wonder who you can really menace? polar bears? i dare you to fight a bear with your claws and teeth.
to Llama: if i'm retarded, you are more retarded than me. you are brain dead, idiot. check your passport (if you have one), and see if there is 'British Consulate' printed, big and clear. and, how do you explain the 'Queen' and 'Governor General'? are you not a subject of the Queen, if you don't agree, please give up your Canadian citizenship. Canada is connected to Britain, both in the history and at present. this is a fact, wake up!
