Separation by alberta would require a referendum too.. like Quebec with the ethnic vote.. alberta is made up of transient workers from Ontario, Newfoundland and other eastern provences.. so dont think it would happen ;)

As a fourth generation Albertan, all I have to say is: "If you don't like the way we run things, then go home." I don't ever recall extending you an invitation to come out here. Furthermore, if things are so great at home, why would you have to come to our province looking for work? Speaks volumes about the political intelligence of eastern Canadians.

that is really sad and pathetic. A country is a lot more than its current political leaders. Could you be any more partisan, i guess not looking at your history of postings here.

I'll be flying my flag upside down ziggy, right up until this unholy alliance (if it occurs) is turfed out on its ass.

Be nothing more than a power grab 12848 votes (73 %)

Total Votes: 17523

The Conservatives have seats across Canada, so why is this seen as a slap in the face to the west?

If the Liberals were the government, Harper would be doing the same thing to them and telling us all that he was doing it in the name of democracy.

If he was successful, I don't think a lot of people in Ontario would be seeing it as a "slap in the face" to eastern Canada.

It's just politics.

Western seperation isn't going to happen. A Canadian's patriotism is stonger than those three pricks in Ottawa. We have to pull together to make sure they don't try and fuck the country over. Patriots will resist them and defend our country from enemies external and domestic.

I love how the hard core Liberals on this site always call conservatives partisan

it appears that I have some support by the posts on this thread. The coalition can embrace separatists or is only separatists from Quebec?

74 % of Canadians said no to Dion what part of no doesn't he understand?
Do we need to repeat it 3 times for him to figure it out or does he need help from a translator.
or maybe

non non non...

It's this kind of thinking that defines Stupidity. This has nothing to do with "Western Canada", "Quebec", or any other Region. This is about Harper pulling a stupid stunt then having it blow up in his face.

No this is about opposition parties stabbing an elected government in the back so they don't lose their meal ticket. And when the next election rolls around the Cons are going to remind Canada about that. Who's going to vote Liberal now with the though of another deal with the devil in the future?

None of the Canadians are talking about separating - just the ALbertans.

It's obvious where their loyalties lie.

So you don't think Albertans are Canadians? I don't think you are qualified to comment on their loyalties.
