..."hips" wheat kings still gets heavy rotation around here. I always liked those fuckers. Hell, I even learned to like Kingston, ON because of 'em....As I write this on a friday night (no date), I'm breaking in a brand new pair of speakers. Takes a month or two to break in decent audio gear, loudspeakers anyway. They were delivered thursday morning, just set 'em up (preliminary) tonight. First tune payed: Seeger. Beside a man. Souded like shit! Like I said, give it a month. Six fucking K for a pair of pre-owned. Fidelity Audio is the company, "parsival" is the model, they are out of Montreal, Quebec, & they have won awards from here to, well name a town! The speaker cable to hook 'em up cost $1600, new, on top of the speakers. I now have a lot of pissed off family members, who can't appreciate good sound, who would rather NOT live on the street. Fools! So "KA" regulars, ya finially got your wish, I won't be able to afford the ten bucks a month for internet access, so I might be gone for the next six years or so, but I'll keep ya posted...somehow...peace.SS

Phantom Power by The Tragically Hip
This is the quintessential Canadian album. It evokes memories of Canadian summer nights ("fireworks exploding in the distance") and cold winter days ("the ice is covering the trees & one of them's interconnecting with my Chevrolet Caprice"). Doesn't get much more Canadian than that!

Right now I'm a big fan of the new Default album. It's called Elocation. Certainly worth a listen.

"Fully Completely" - The Tragically Hip
"Tumbling Towards Ecstasy" - Sarah McLachlan
"In the Trees" - The Watchmen
What about some jazz fans? Diana Krall anyone?
And, for those you thinking in a different frame of mind,
"The Goldberg Variations" - Glenn Gould

I can almost go along with SayOV and 2112, but there was a Guess Who album callied Rockin' that holds that place. I can't find a copy of it, haven't in years, but there's a really great song on it the title of which I do not even know, but it is suggested it is called Big Smoke Factory.
Looking through a pair of sad eyes.
Never feeling glad eyes.
Wanting things they never had eyes.
is the way it starts.
