Yes of course - politicians have agendas. First Nations ones would (in theory) have one of getting greater representation and benefits for FN citizens. Some other polis might be opposed and have their own agendas...but that's why we have elections and such. And that's why if you could get FN to go out and vote in all areas of the province, they'd be on their way to a defacto state. Or atleast have a greater say in the laws and policies that affect them.

Aside - I'd like to know how current FN politics would / could mesh with this idea. I've heard some pretty harsh things about corruption at the band level, etc.

No doubt about that, the grassroots NDNS, are livid. about the corruption.and the leaders are being challenged every step of the way in the reserves. lol

I have to admit, I saved a huge amount on GST with only a 1% cut.
Though, I knew it would be great for a big consumer like me, I would of prefered a tax cut for the middle classe.
