Hey I live in the Southwestern portion of Manitoba:
Winnipeg has some interesting attractions. Their is
The Forks which is nice in the summer. You can walk along the river.
Also in Winnipeg is
Assiniboine Park and
Zoo.
There is the
MTS Centre that hosts concerts and the
Manitoba Moose (hockey ~ AHL).
There is the Canad Inns Stadium that hosts the
Winnipeg Blue Bombers (football ~ CFL)
There is the Canwest Park that hosts the
Winnipeg Goldeyes (baseball)
Other than that their is a bunch of beaches along Lake Winnipeg, about 1 hour north of Winnipeg.
If your into the environment their is the
Oak Hammock Marsh Society which is an interesting interpretive centre.
In my area (which is known as "Westman"...the western portion of the province) their is Turtle Mountain Provincial Park which is nice for camping, swimming, hiking, etc.
Also a nice area to see is the [url=http://www.peacegarden.com/[International Peace Gardens[/url] (Boissevain, Manitoba, and Dunseith, North Dakota are the two closest towns too it). It has beautiful gardens in the summer, the two peace towers, a chapel with a bunch of names engraved, actual live rubble from the 9/11 Trade Towers, in the summer lots of camps are hosted their including a prestige international Band Camp.
I actually live a 30 minute drive from this. Nice area.
Um, their is
Riding Mountain National Park, its nice for camping and fishing, and hiking.
Spruce Woods Provincial Park is a interesting place to camp, has this interesting desert in Northern Canada. Cactus and sand dunes, and such.
Yes...interestingly enough thats a scene in Manitoba.
I haven't been North of Riding Mountain, so I can't really get into Northern Manitoba.
Also if you heading East, Kenora-Dryden (Ontario) and Lake of the Woods is a beautiful area. Your entering into the Canadian Shield their.
Cheers!
