Were there not enough skilled workers in Canada, the US or Mexico to fill these positions?

That is why I asked.
I assume the company showed they had advertised for over 3 months, and applied for LMO's at Service Canada, work permits at the Embassies and all necessary paperwork?
Don't thinks so either

Jesus, I wonder if the jobs are even on the NOC list...

Most workers just show up here. In construction we had a bunch of chinamen who never had any papers. Perfect workers really they do their job ask no questions and will take whatever pay you will give them.

Yep. And blow it for the people who are trying to come legally, and the people who want to work for a normal pay.

We have the same problems here with Polish people (we had it, now they can work here legally, because of the EU.) They were living in shitholes, working for almost nothing, and our construction workers and truckdrivers were at home jobless. Great!

I don't think people really even care well except those losing their jobs. Companies love illegal immigrants though because they are not citizens so can do whatever they want to them really. I think most of them (at least where I was) were only making $5 - $6/h while everyone else was making $10-$12/h. Also they didn’t have to pay taxes or anything else for them either. Sure they only spoke a couple words of English but they just followed people around and just did monkey see monkey do. I don’t blame the people so much coming here though I blame the people letting them stay here and take advantage of them more.

I am not blaming the people. I am blaming the companies. I thought I made that clear in my first post about the paperwork. The employer has to apply for an LMO, and when that is done, the employee can apply for a work-permit.

In this case the employer hires people without the necessary paperwork.

I know I just felt like adding to it. :P

Then you tell me how the hell that company got the paperwork done. Are those jobs really on the NOC-list?

Yep, they are all legal. Most people who do not work have tried this plant and quit. The plant sent recuiters to Mexico, Ukraine, Romania, China ect. These people are tied into working for 2 years. Meanwell the people from here ( Brandon) who tried working there are mostly all back on welfare.

Another Manitoba thread!

Yeah we got some factories up in Brandon. The Maple Leaf plant, and other fertilizer plants.

Their legal, the Manitoba NDP Government is really targeting the Philippines for immigration here. So its mostly Filipinos filling these positions.

But I don't believe their illegal aliens.
