I would like to have some information on what it's like living in Saskatchewan.

The economy there has been booming recently. Therefore, I would assume that there is lots of employment opportunities. Plus, there are many natural resources being exploited at the moment.

Also, there is seldom any mention of this particular province throughout Canada. It's always about mostly Alberta, Ontario or Quebec.

At the same time, about a year or two ago, there was this TV commercial that I saw a few times. It was a really good promotional piece enticing people to move to there. Plus the cities there are not too big (meaning about mid-size) also there are many rural areas.

Anyways, only wanted some opinions about Saskatchewan.

Its really, really cold in the winter. Lots of mosquitoes in the summer. Taxes are high. Not a whole lot to do. And now, apparently, it has become expensive. Its a boom bust economy, and its booming right now.

However, people are friendly and industrious. Lots of lakes in the north. Oddly, there are a lot of good restaurants in Saskatoon. Best football team in Canada.

High taxes? Saskatchewan is the second lowest taxed in Canada....

Anyways, indeed it is cold but where isn't in Canada? It is also very hot in the summer. It is a nice place to live, it might not be for everybody but now there are actually people moving IN, not out. Everywhere I go I see Alberta license plates.

Housing is up and it used to be cheap but the price is going up. A heavy increase of Native population, high energy sector, agriculture.....yeah, not really a province people talk about, kind of like the Wyoming of the U.S.

Before anyone goes on to much about the house prices going higher and higher keep in mind that it is relative to the rest of the west which still makes it quite affordable. Right now the economy is solid and as far as cities go, I can't recommend Saskatoon enough. I'm from the northwest end of the province but Saskatoon has enough qualities about it to make just about anyone happy.
