Tman1 Tman1:
Describe how he was a great Canadian patriot, nevermind the fact that his only significance was trying to create a single large western province but ok.

Why not do a search and prove to me he wasn't. I already know that no matter what I post you'll dismiss it and most educated folk all ready know his accomplishments so.......

Tman1 Tman1:
Most of his exploits seem to be in Saskatchewan,

He served Canada militarily in Ontario, retired to Quebec, and first lived in Ft. Macleod (Alberta) when he moved to the prairies.

Tman1 Tman1:
the province you seem to hate.

I love Saskatchewan. Just got back from your hometown of Saskatoon doing some real estate speculating. Have relatives who fought on both sides at Batoche. Had some of the best times of my life in the Dundurn Motel. Love the old houses and history of Moose Jaw. I could go on.

Tman1 Tman1:
I agree in one point, he was a significant figure in the prairies.

Yet you call him a "dimwit" and say "fact that his only significance was trying to create a single large western province".

Tman1 Tman1:
Gee really? Perhaps we should both agree on the hatred of the east.

Maybe a hatred of Ottawa and the Liberals and bingo, there would be common ground.

Are you stupid? I'd like to think the education about this country has advanced over the past 30 years.

What the hell does "education about this country" mean? Do you mean 'knowledge of' or 'research techniques in pursuit of'?

Is that some kinda toonbonics?

Grainfed, I know we aren't the most sociable of people and to tell the truth, I think we have more in common then we let on. I am an Albertan through and through but recently moved to Sask and what I don't like is misinformation about the province, which is a problem about it.

To tell the truth, I am more on your side in most political leanings, considering Canada but when it comes down to statistics and dissing Sask, I'll be there. One thing I hate is poor history and I'll be there to correct it.

Good one, "Toonbonics"? Is that from your own personal lexicon?

"education about this country" is pretty simplistic. If you can't gleen the meaning from that simple sentence, case in point.

I'm a bit of a prairie history buff myself.

I'm trying to clean up my insults to keep from being warned/suspended etc. all the time. Too colloquial?

The problem is it's too simplistic. If you want to denigrate to insults and name calling expect a little scrutiny. I can say that because I've had my sins washed away :D

westmanguy westmanguy:
I'd rather join with Northern/Western Ontario then Saskatchewan.

I am a Manitoban btw.

We have the lowest electricity rates in N. America.

Taxpayer subsidised electrical rates are a source of pride? I guess you'd burst at the seams if the government doubled your taxes in order to lower the cost of fuel so everyone could drive a large car again.

Tax subsidies for water, electricity etc lead to increased use and are anathematic to the principles of resource conservation and force some to pay for the wasteful habits of others. If you can afford to leave the light on in your closet 24/7 then go for it, just don't expect me to chip in to cover the bill.

I said "steak" and not a hunk of wood.

The best place I ever saw was the Alberta Cafe in Westlock back in the mid80s-90s. When you ordered a steak the owner took you into the freezer and let you choose the thickness then you were served two plates: the first with the steak and the second with fries (or vegetables if you were a woman or a poofter visiting from out east.)

Referring back to an establishment in the 80's 90;s doesn't make your "steak" any less a hunk of wood than the Keg.

I remember the Treats Eatery in Lethbridge, best beef all around. PDT_Armataz_01_28 this guy would be drooling.

In Edmonton I'd recommend Von's, Vi's or Hy's.

Is there a Hy's there?

Thunder Bay is closer to Winnipeg than it is to Toronto, but I imagine gov't greed will keep it from happening... as for Saskatchewan, we share a board on here we might as well share a Legislature too, as long as its in Winnipeg...
