I've seen the perfect scenario where that would be warranted. There was a group home just down the block from where I used to live. The guy that ran it had new smoke detectors put in but he kept fucking with them, making them more sensitive so he could catch people smoking in the house. However, for 5-6 days straight, the fire alarm went off and the Fire Dept was dispatched to the home. The alarm would go off when someone was cooking, or even when the resident handyman was using a table saw indoors.
On the last trip, the Chief ripped a strip off the owner and told him the next false alarm they responded to at that address would be billed to him. And let me tell you, the language was quite colourful.

Frankly from the picture posted in the article and the RCMP telling the woman she shouldn't have called 911 it sounds like there was more to this problem then the article lets on.

The fact she had a recorder out is a sign of some kind of past here that hasn't been investigated. Shame on CBC for reporting such tripe.

So it would seem youre the one lacking reading comprehension. But really, I think youre just a bad human being who derives pleasure from acting spitefully towards people. I highly doubt that if this same story had been about an Anglo woman experiencing this in a Quebec town, you would be so quick to judge her based on a manufactured presumption of secret evidence. But then, youve always been one of this site's suckers for identity politics. The funny part is, you think youre being fair and judging this woman in her actions, not her identity, but the actions youre judging her on are ones you invented yourself as justification: " oh you JUST KNOW she did something horrible right before the camera was rolling." Because I was judging the Chief and the town based on their actions. jj was judeging the woman based on the fact that she was French Canadian (I believe he said Quebeckers were Nazis).

It's ok to call a person an asshole when they're acting like an asshole. Or a goober if they're acting like a goober. Last I checked "Goober" isnt a race or ethnicity.

It's not ok to:

1) declare an individual to be an asshole (or a Nazi) simply because of their ethinicity, especially when there is no other info in the story to suggest this person acted inappropriately.

2) based on the assumptions in (1), assert that it's perfectly ok for public servants to swear at them and hurl ethnic slurs while doing their JOB.

jj is guilty of both 1 and 2 above.

You were judging the actions of a few people. That doesn't make it acceptable for you to generalize an entire town based on their actions.
