WTF?? As if staff aren't already underpaid. Now they're bringing in people who will work for food, rather than hiring locals. Timmy's won't be winning any friends in The Pas pulling this stunt, during these economic times. Now the local staff that is there can be be threatened with replacement from the Third World.

Aggressive immigration suppresses wages at the bottom $2 or $3 an hour and this amounts to a tax. Added to the other taxes you’ll find workers at the very bottom are by far the most heavily taxed in the system. Add the $3 to the 32% tax of workers making $9 an hour and you get their total tax is 65%.

will work for food as long as they aren't sent back home.....and that's God's honest truth. You should hear about some of the shit they endure to avoid going back to the Philippines.

Support for exploitive wages is as mercurial as support for feckless deficits. It’s part of human nature. They actually cut the worst off workers out of the benefits of the free market with aggressive immigration.

What would you expect from an American company that likes to pose as "Canadian"

They had ad's up for month's here for workers at the new Tim's,one of my bud's kids hired on and will be a manager in a few years if he stick's it out,the rest of the employees are mostly immigrants and allways pleasant and courteous.

Like macdonald's or 7/11 who no one wants to work for, they are one of the top 50 companies in Canada for advancement.

All the junk food places in Calgary that have Filipino's managing and staffing them are way better to go to than the ones full of the indifferent and utterly obnoxious white teenagers "working" in them. Good service and thay actually say "thank you" most of the time. Beats the mouthy white prick kids who are probably spitting or pissing on everyone's food.

Yeah, these immigrants will out compete the kids for jobs. If you have kids that want a job it's a problem.

It likely does but it also beggs the question of what our country is coming too when were too proud to work our own jobs and all the factory and construction jobs are going overseas...are we all going to end up as wal-mart greeters before we wake up and start being thankful for the bounty our country has given us. We are blessed to live in such a great nation as Canada.
