It seems that there is some misunderstanding of the higher tax rates and that it is a Marginal rate, not 70% of income. At least, I think that is what is being talked of.

In the recent concentration on the 1% in the media, it is overlooked that the slogan was just a convenient descriptor. The problem, more in the States than elsewhere, but in Canada, too, is the .1% who do control the political discourse and manipulate the theocratic sector of society for support.

That tiny faction that really does control the vast bulk of wealth is immune to the effects of Social Conservatism and has everything to gain by marshalling that backward element of society in its cause.

I guess you are stupid then too (I guess I over-estimated you - so noted, it won't happen again  ), because incompetence has nothing to do with someone getting angry or having an opinion - it has to do with a lack of ability - which your poor attempt to quote me proved. [B-o]

Don't worry, I'm sure someday you'll figure out how to properly use the internet...of course by then, everyone else will be using something else and you'll still be stuck behind the learning curve!

Well, if that's the case, then I guess that puts us on equal ground now. :)

Bootlegga, the bottom line here is that no matter how much you want it, the US Congress - both Democrats and Republicans - have no intentions of raising taxes in a downward trending economy. The Democrats, of course, know better than to do this, but I still expect them to do their typical election year grandstanding for taxes on the 'rich' while it's the Democrats in Congress who'd suffer the most from such laws.

Of course not - why do you think OWS appeared? Everyone knows the politicians aren't going to kill their golden goose.

Still, people can hope that politicians do the right thing...
