Not just your average gun stupidity though. Psycho-cop gun stupidity.

Who in their right mind takes a phone to a movie????

In other cell phone news...

One Dead, One Missing, One Hospitalized After Icy Plunge To Save Cell Phone

Police said a 26-year-old man dropped his phone in the river along the Chicago Riverwalk, just west of Lake Shore Drive, shortly after midnight. He climbed the railing to try to grab his phone, and fell in the iced-over river.

Two friends who were with him jumped in the river after him.

Witnesses said they called 911 after hearing cries for help.

“We were walking to the fountain this way, and my friend said he heard a yell of help,” Luis said. “At first I didn’t believe it, you know, so we decided to keep walking this way. We wanted to keep sightseeing. As we got closer, we heard it again, and I heard it again too, and as we got closer, we yelled out, ‘Where you at?’”

Luis said he talked to the man who was yelling, and asked if there was anybody else in the water with him.

“He told me he had a friend that he was holding on to, and that there was a girlfriend too that fell in the water, that was under the water, but he couldn’t find her,” he said.

Police and Fire Department divers searched the icy waters for all three people, and pulled the two men out of the water. The search for the 21-year-old woman victim was expected to resume at 9 a.m. Tuesday, CBS 2′s Brad Edwards reports.

The two men were placed on stretchers and taken to hospitals.

The 26-year-old man who dropped his phone later died. His 23-year-old friend was in critical condition at Presence Saint Joseph Hospital.

This is an example of my primary argument against looser gun laws and carry permits. Plain and simple, more citizens carrying guns = more of these types of incidents resulting from everyday confrontations.

Parents, you idiot.

The movie hadn't even started yet.

You saying some random stranger gets to decide anyone deserves the death penalty for something that might irritate you a bit, but something that does not concern you AT ALL?

Yeah. If the movie had started and the guy was talking on the phone, I could see killing him. But he was texting, for Christ's sake, and before the movie even started. He should have just shot the phone out of his hands, like they did in the old westerns. Cops, of course, are trained to shoot for center mass to bring the perp down - too bad in this case.

Maybe the family should sue the theater right, because the theater didn't have signs or run warnings before the movie that carrying or using your phone in the theater might end up with you getting shot.

The theater should have given the ushers AR15's to prevent this sort of thing. The only way to prevent gun violence is with more guns.

The tragic stupidity of that one man is almost to much for me to handle.

The only freebie this moron deserves is a free (for him anyways) prison cell and a badass cellmate!
