Why not execute for theft?

Why make that line in the sand over property, when many wish to consider their property to be an extention of themselves?

What exactly is the reason that violation of the concepts of property don't deserve such heavy handed punishments when it is the strongest basic tenet of our society?

Money is free expression, correct? So this scam artist 'sorceror' stiffled free expression and caused financial struggle for whomever she wronged. In some fashion she likely caused damage to the individual she scammed by removing from that person an amount of freedom to buy food, health supplies, education, or whatever else that money could have gone too. She violated that persons right to freely express themselves with money which in turn would have meant that person can no longer perform their free will to the tune of $800 or so, which may or may not have been used to benefit the person themselves through factors such as health and well being.

So why should execution be laughed off when someone causes damage to an individual like this? Because it is indirect damage?

Then why do so many argue that our captal is directly a relation of ourselves?

Not Bart, but as another American my issue is the crime in question. Executions should be for things like murder, treason, and rape, not theft. Granted, I'm not sure where I stand on the death penalty, but I do know that I don't believe it should be applied to theft. I also believe that an execution for sorcery is absolutely stupid. She should have been charged with theft or fraud, not using magic.[/quote]


Exactingly, whether the nation is Christian, Islamic, Jewish, Marxist or anything else this execution was extremely excessive. Throw her ass in jail but cutting off her head?
