SURPRISE!!! I know this may come as a SURPRISE to many of you, but hey, who doesn't like a good surprise? I know I do.

here is some info that may or may not surprise you but I thought it should be made public to expose the darker side of our local government and our academic institutations in Canada.

So parents, when you send Junior off to school and you think he's getting an education, well, have I got news for you. Oh, and if you aren't lucky enough to have parents who can pay for you to toil away your days at some over glorified College Campus, well, tough luck for you. Research, reasearch, reasearch. If you did not do your home work it's your fault. Any good academic would research a school before attending.

Ranking Methodology:

They rank Universities and Colleges (any academic institution) by several indicators of academic or research performance, including alumni and staff winning Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals, highly cited researchers, articles published in Nature and Science, articles indexed in major citation indices, and the per capita academic performance of an institution.

For each indicator, the highest scoring institution is assigned a score of 100, and other institutions are calculated as a percentage of the top score. The distribution of data for each indicator is examined for any significant distorting effect; standard statistical techniques are used to adjust the indicator if necessary.

Scores for each indicator are weighted as shown below to arrive at a final overall score for an institution. The highest scoring institution is assigned a score of 100, and other institutions are calculated as a percentage of the top score. An institution's rank reflects the number of institutions that sit above it.

Criteria Indicator Code Weight
Quality of Education Alumni of an institution winning Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals Alumni 10%
Quality of Faculty Staff of an institution winning Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals Award 20%
Highly cited researchers in 21 broad subject categories HiCi 20%
Research Output Articles published in Nature and Science* N&S 20% Articles in Science Citation Index-expanded, Social Science Citation Index, and Arts & Humanities Citation Index SCI 20%
Size of Institution Academic performance with respect to the size of an institution Size 10%
Total 100%

3. List of Abbreviations

Abbreviations used in the names of institutions are as follows:

Agr - Agriculture
Chem - Chemistry
Coll - College
Fed - Federal
Inst - Institute
Med - Medicine
Natl or Nacl - National
Phys - Physics
Sch - School
Sci - Science
Tech - Technology
Univ - University

So now if you have digested that; without further ado here is a list of the "absolute" worse place to attend because they are not Academic Institutions they are Businesses. And I would challenge anyone who would dare say different. Not surprising you will not see any of the names mentioned below.

Ranked from the Worse to the Worse:

1. ICT - They claim to have impacted millions of lives worldwide. Well ain't that the truth... impacted in ways that can never be explained, even by the most seasoned of psychiatrists

2. Home ED - They claim you can study Where you want, When you want, You're in control...(lol) That sounds good but what will you do after when you need advise or have serious(wink) question which cannot be answered by anyone but your instructor? Ahhhh Dah.

3. ITT - They can help you achieve your goal (hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha)

4. ABU - Real Training for Real Jobs! That is very questionable. You can get something they don't mention what that something is, but you can get it in just 10 months.

5. McKenzie College - This is no joke, this just a waste of time good sleep and money.

6. Oultons - Propaganda: Since 1956, Oulton College has been commited to providing its students with knowledge and leading edge skills to successfully enter the ever-changing workforce. We have helped over 10,000 students obtain the career of their dreams.

Our programs are taught by qualified and helpful instructors using the latest technology and students of our job placement services. Oulton's College's staff is dedicated to the success of its students and determined to make their experience at Oulton College both rewarding and enjoyable. At Oulton College, we dynamically transfer information and methodologies from today's leading career markets, to student focused classroom environments. Come see what one of Atlantic Canada's leading Private Colleges can offer you.

We enjoy a long established reputation of seeing it's students successfully working upon graduation. Our graduate employment success rate in recent years has been over 90%, one of the highest among colleges in the Atlantic Provinces.

Anyone, I have ever spoken to have said they would never hire a Oultons Grad. Maybe they are just selective.

7. CompuCollege - Well, well, well, The right School for The right Job! Right.

8. Holland College - Where you can earn a diploma in Golf Course Management...ummmm!

Why do you need a course in Golf Course Management, why would you just not get a MBA also known as Bachelor of Business and you can work anywhere, including a golf course.

Just a little detail, but an MBA is a Masters degree, and a BBA is a Bachelor's Degee in B.Admin.

I'm not sure if they would be called "scams", the kids may feel forced to go to college and they pick the easiest program, get a degree, certificate, ect and then they can say they went to college lol, they dont care that they cant get a good job with it, they just go to these tech colleges to say "i went to college" (total waste of money)...stupid people lol
