OK, I am new here having just registered on Saturday. I make a few posts, check my email today and lo and behold, what do I see? An email from CanadaKA stating that I apparently have requested a password change.
I checked out the IP addy listed in the email and it's nowhere near me. Now, this is no bother from an online security perspective as the account is a free one, ergo disposable, but it's the first time this has ever happened on any forum over the past 11yrs. That it happened on a Canadian forum was completely mind blowing.
What irked me is the fact that someone felt it necessary to try it in the first place. I mean, c'mon people, get a life, smoke a doobie, take a chill pill or whatever it is that mellows you out.
This is an online discussion board and, sure, people can get heated about subjects close them but most people I know (the stable ones at least) take everything said/done online with a grain of salt since it's damn near impossible to get across intonations and humour without turning the post into a smiley/emoticon extraveganza. (something i hate to admit AOL was decent for; '?!' is different from '!!?' etc etc) Disagreements happen (if that's the cause here), people rarely agree 100% on anything, deal with it. As I have always been taught... I may not agree with what you say but I will fight to the death for your right to say it.
So to whomever it was that made the password change request, please, be a man/woman and have the decency to confront me instead of trying the cloak & dagger crap.
Cheers and happy posting
