That well be the case there slappy. When a patient nags enough and the doctor or the pharmacist has enough on their plate as it is, how hard do you think it is for someone who is in the grips of the cycle of dependency to simply slip though the cracks of the system? Instead of getting the help they need they self medicate to the point they get a tag on the toe.

True, but the difference between a drug pusher and your doctor that is getting paid to push product is what exactly?

If I have to explain that there is no hope for you.

Gateway drug = enabler

The system can also be an enabler if the demand is strong enough. Saying x drug is 'bad' while y drug is 'good' is a black and white solution in a world with a range of problems that are all colours of the rainbow. You end up with misdiagnoses that ends up treating sickness like a criminal act that only compounds the problem.

I didn't click the link, but I would say all drug abuse is wrong and harmfull. That's a given. Even alcohol.

I agree, too much of anything is bad.

but I see nothing wrong with an occasional drink or joint

If you want to engage in insults I'll converse no further, my moniker is Scrappy, not slappy. Doctors take an oath, do no harm and drug dealers do not.

As for you Hwacker, you have made your opinion very clear, as hateful and cruel as it was regarding drug addicts. Fuck off is to polite a response to you.

Yea drink your liver to death and smoke your pot and somehow this makes it okay and yet you judge others. There is a name for people who do that it starts with an H.

As an occasional pot smoker, I'm of the don't over do it crowd. If someone wants to smoke pot or have the occasional drink, go ahead. I really don't think they are hurting anyone, even themselves. Now, I do have a problem with someone who gets drunk or way to high and gets behind the wheel. Thats where things get dicey. Other than that, drink till your sick, smoke till you cough. I could care less what you do in the privacy of your home.
