Napolitano: Canada is a primary source for terrorists entering the US

Resurrecting rumors that were proven to be false.

Is the Obama administration going to get rid of Jan-nut Nut-politano anytime soon?

Quote:
WASHINGTON – Canada is a primary source for terrorists entering the United States, President Barack Obama's homeland security chief suggested last night in an interview explaining the reasoning behind new and tighter border rules.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told CBC News that while Canada lacks the drug wars that vex the Mexican border, the Canadian frontier is on America's radar as a potential gateway for terrorist threats.

"Canada is not Mexico, it doesn't have a drug war going on. It didn't have 6,000 homicides that were drug-related last year," Napolitano explained to Neil MacDonald of CBC News.

"Nonetheless, to the extent that terrorists have come into our country, or suspected or known terrorists have come into our country, it has been across the Canadian border."

Asked whether she was referring to the perpetrators of the 9/11 attacks, Napolitano replied:

"Not just those, but others as well. So again, every country is entitled to have a border. It's part of sovereignty."

Napolitano's comments are certain to cause a stir in Ottawa, which struggled throughout the Bush era to dispel the widely held myth that Sept. 11 attackers entered the U.S. via Canada.

In fact, none of them did.

When the CBC asked Napolitano why such views are so commonplace, she appeared to suggest that the relevant information is a security secret.

Someone is grasping at straws in an effort to save their job.

Must have missed it, in this who Nigerian debacle, where the guy crossed the Canadian border. Did that United Airlines flight from Amsterdam cross into Canuck airspace for a moment?

Well really folks, she has a point. Canada is open and it lets anyone in. So stands to reason there would be lots of them crossing the border at any point from coast to coast. The come here get ID, ( usually false) and there you have it. I read an interesting article in a journal when I was home in Québec. It was about the airport problem and getting through customs. Without a long story, it basically said that people shouldn't get too concerned because very soon governments will have to force people to be chipped. These micro chips will be injected by syringe into your wrist and this will allow governments to track and ID you. however I doubt terrorists will be signing up for the chip anytime soon..

That's some interesting logic formulating your unsubstantiated assertions. Got some stats to support your postulations or do they simply have the slight aroma of poo about them?

Well, a few have come from Canada. We had one in BC a few years back who was caught catching a ferry to Washington state.

I just don't think a people that given to fear should be so well-armed. But I guess that's why they're so well-armed.

One thing I have noticed lately is the US is calling the UK out as a prime source of Jihadi's.

It's not only Canada that has a problem with letting Jihadi's in. The UK seems to be the #1 western source for 'home grown' Jihadis.
