"Get over it" is actually very good advice. You can choose to move on and grow, or you can let a tragedy define your life.

Regarding PTSD - what would you tell the soldiers, Tricks? Wouldn't you encourage them to get help?

Of course, but I wouldn't brush them off by saying "Get over it." How you can not see the sheer uncaring, and uncalled for remark is beyond me. You said friends support friends, I think we see why you say this.

The situation that each experienced may be similar, but they are not the same. None of us react identically to the same stimuli, so Gerry's experience and the way he dealt with it can't be imposed on the way Yogi has chosen to deal with his abuse. There are also degrees of abuse to be taken into consideration. While an inappropriate touch is troubling, rape and sexual interference is like comparing a firecracker to a hydrogen bomb.

WDH III , count to 10........make it a thousand, drink a few beers, take a two week vacation, complete a degree and then address Lily's posts. I'm sure everything will be more civil if this regimen is followed. Tricks........find a neighbour that owns some small, yappy poodle and make them mourn the passing of puppy. Trust me, you'll feel better and their other neighbours will too.
