My dishwasher is eating the coal brushes that are inside the circulation pump somehow, so I am looking for new ones. Size is 5 x 8 x 25, with a wire-thingy on it.

Does anyone have ANY idea where I can order those? They tell me here that I have to replace the whole pump, but I refuse to pay $200 for a pump, when I can order them from Holland for $12 per 2. I rather get them from here tho.

Could anyone point me in the right direction?

Coal brushes? Never heard them called that! ;) "Commutator Brushes" is the English term. Usually thay aren't sold seperately, and usually they don't wear out quickly. Only if they are the incorrect (cheap) materials or if they are overtightened do they wear excessivly.

Is your appliance repair guy giving you 'used' parts and repairing these himself and selling them as 'new'? See if the manufacturer will sell you the pump by itself, and make sure it's *new*, not remanufactured.

And, why does a bride wear white? So the dishwasher matches the fridge and stove. :P

I've never heard of coal brushes either. [huh]

Commutator or motor brushes yes.......... :? But as mentioned above, they should not have worn this fast and if they did there's something that's caused them to do that and it should be fixed first.

...........but they're right too. Aprons don't wear out. :P

These guys are in Calgary, they may be able to help or at least put you to someone who can.

http://carbonbrushes.ca/

We've gotten a few parts for pump motors from them in the past.

If you can record the make and model of the pump motor, there are many sources of carbon brushes on the internet. However, if the motor is wearing out brushes rapidly, it sounds like the rotor shaft bearing is worn and needs to be replaced. Just bite the bullet and replace the whole gadget.
