My neighbour loves to spend her day going round and round and around somemore doing her yard work and keeping her property looking like the most beautiful thing . Granted shes older retired and has little time to do anything else but she stuffed her Compost drawer box more or less off of her property out of the way from sight and away from the breeze and more or less onto my property Really fucking arrogant and rude and I'm curious if anyone has any ideas on how to deal with this . The box is still on her property but she has 2 inches to spare . I was thinking about putting a fence right infront of it ...she also uses one third of another neighbours back yard for her veggy garden these people just bought the house this month and caught her watering it with their water .

When they're ready, just pop over to her place for a little harvest as well. Bleach in the compost will work fine too.

Ummm, has anyone tried talking to the lady? Maybe if you are nice to her and show some interest in her garden you will soon be reaping the rewards....

First she will start bringing over some home made pies and brownies, within a few weeks she should be showing up at your door in a thong crafted from an old pair of depends. Then again, those pesky nieghbor compost bins are a good place to throw your dogs poop as opposed to winging it over the fence out into the street when no ones looking.

I vacuumed a field of clover once... we needed to harvest the seeds, so the easiest thing to do was to shopvac the dried plants and then sort the seeds later... must have looked ridiculous to people driving by

Talk to her. If you haven't got your own compost bin, you can ask if you can add your kitchen waste to hers.

Plant some saplings around the compost box if you think it's unsightly. Willow can be good if it's not too near the house. Absorbs the nutrients really well, grows quickly and can be cut back yearly to make withies for basket making, or burned slowly in a covered metal drum to make charcoal. Or the saplings can be woven together live to make a living bower.

Also, if it's smelling bad, then it's not composting properly. No citrus - they make it too acid and kill off the composting microbes so it becomes a smelly sludge. Add sawdust from time to time. Pee in it if she'll let you. Turn it once in a while. Give it some love.

Often people will put a piece of PVC with holes drilled all around it down through the middle of the pile, allowing air to flow down to the centre.

Blue, what happened to your signature? Is that your own humble self that you're quoting? Have you been overdosing on those self-belief tapes again?
