Any input from anyone regarding this engine?
I'm looking at a ram with a v10 and wonder why dodge didnt keep this engine in it's fleet.

Should I run fast or is it something I should be getting interested in?

I need a truck.anything but a ford because those arent trucks. 8O

Wow Ford diesels are all we have run since 89. We haven't been to keen on the 6 liter but the 7.3 gave us un friggin real service. Two of them, 94's were over 800,000 k's.

Red deer is dodge country,I've been a chev guy for years but the dodges look like a truck and the chevys I looked at today look like cars.If I hit a coyote then at least the dodge will go over it,the chevy's look like they would take some major damage.

Three guys I work with got the same Ram 2500... well, one got the turbo diesel, the other two hemis; one with the hood scoop package, and one with the chrome wheels. All three are black

I'm pretty sure if I was in a position to buy a new truck, I wouldn't buy the same truck as someone I knew, let alone someone I worked with, let alone TWO people I worked with.

Anyway, they seem to like them...

We gave Dodge and Chev a try. The Dodge suspension was so stiff that it beat the boxes off the trucks. They faired better with half ton in the box, that aside they were not bad everywhere else.
The Chevy we tried was NOT an off road vehicle at all. The allison gave us grief, the wire harness went for a shit and even thought it only measured 2 inches lower on the crossmember it hit everthing That vehicle never made 3 months and we got rid of it.

By the way these are all one ton 4x4's

If you do end up buying the same truck, may I recommend a Mickey Mouse thingy for your antenna?

It sure helps me find my car amongst all the little silver ones in the parking lot...... ;)

Yellow ones
blue ones
and mine is red.

But....is the v10 reliable?
I dont care about fuel costs, just reliability.

Buy a Canadian brand. V10 eats lots of gas, that's why.

PorscheBoxster2001 PorscheBoxster2001:

I don't think that was a commercial.

and my grandfathers old ranger (an 88) had over a million miles on it. it lasted him until 99, when after 12 accidents, the thing finally quit.

P.S. he only got it rapaired the one time, the rest were not more than fenderbenders and one rollover, the thiong was fucking durable

V10 Ford engine is built in Windsor, Ontario. I would suggest to you that you take a closer look at the Ford, as they have been building them for a long time and they are also the best selling truck on the market. I may be biased, though, as I have worked in the plant that builds them. 8)
There is also a chrysler assembly plant here in Windsor and you see plenty of F-series pickups in their parking lot too, lol, there is a reason for that!!!
