This one is from the US, another terrible case of wrongful conviction -is there no end in sight?

WHAT KIND OF A JUSTICE SYSTEM DO WE HAVE?

Why ask "what kind of justice system do WE have" then use an American case as evidence?

We are not the United States.

Such cases, while tragic, are the rare exception rather than the rule. Our jails are most certainly not overflowing with the innocent. Despite how much those inside might claim otherwise.

I don't think you know what you are talking about.

The Kennedy assassination investigation is quite insightful, with respect to glaring incompetence in both Canada and the US, when it comes to solving murder.

And I don't think you do either, believing that how the Kennedy assination was investigated by the US in the 60's is somehow relevant to the way law enforcement in Canada (a different country) investigates crimes today (half a century later).

But go ahead, enlighten us all. Let us bathe in the light of your genuis. :D

Is that it? "Every murder is the same" (a BS comment, murders are the same only in that a person dies) and post an irrelevant link about Jack Ruby.

That website reeks of foilers. I feel dirty...

If you're trying to make a point about the CANADIAN justice system stop using AMERICAN material. It makes as much sense as me saying "corruption is rampant in the Canadian government" and using websites on corruption in the Mexican government to back me up.

This one is Canadian.

I am looking at murder from the point of view of the investigator.

All I am saying that it takes the same skills to solve them and the very same grotesque incompetence to blame them on scapegoats.

In that respect, it doesn't matter what country you're in, it's all very Kafkaesque.

I'll bet they even have some great investigators in Mexico, which you are fond of belittling.

Fact is it happens in Canada, granted not as often as in the States.
No system is perfect, thankfuly DNA evidence is making strides to prevent cases of wrongfull conviction.
Problem with the jury system is the reasonable doubt, and the fact that personal opionion is able to cloud ones judgement. Not to mention circumstansal evidence, and a system that is way too lienient on young offenders.
Parole on a life conviction is B.S. as well, life should mean life!
