A couple nights ago as I drove into town (after dark) to pick up one of my daughters, my headlights caught a flash of a wee orange kitten running into the ditch. I thought to myself.. uh oh.. that cat's toast.
This morning, as I drove my daughter to school, I noticed two kittens playing in the muddy yard of an empty trailer.. one that someone is renovating. they were playing on the tracks of the bulldozer in the yard.
We turned around, and when I stepped out of the van, I said "kitty".. that was it.. Four.. count 'em , FOUR kittens zoomed at me.. very friendly..
I checked around the trailer to see if anyone was there..nothing..

Someone has dropped these kittens off. Cowards..
There are tons of farms around.. if they want to be cowards and drop cats off to starve.. why not at least pick a farm where they have a fighting chance?

Hell no.. drop 4 innocent kittens off to goddam well starve or freeze to death in the cold.

Idiots. I own 6 cats. Three of them are cats someone dumped off.

Idiots! Cowards. Bastards.

I hope people who do this to animals have to sleep in the cold with nothing to eat sometime.

Maybe they were just strays.

I lived on a large property growing up that people apparently assumed was a farm, because we had a couple cats dropped off every few years. We did not want them, so we took them to the farm next door.

They had about 40 cats at one point, until the wolves ate all but about half a dozen of them.

If you think farm cats have a better chance, you're mistaken. Many will end up with diseases from rodents, getting in fights with other cats or animals, or find themselves under a tractor tire or getting a tour through the inner workings of a combine.

Strays would not run up and jump into my arms when I said "kitty".

I know the farm cats' chances of survival.. I grew up on a farm. Some farmers at least have the balls to drown or shoot the kittens they don't want instead of letting them starve slowly. At least this farmer does.

Don't ever leave Canada for the Balkans or other fucked up regions if you don't like seeing strays and things like that. It would break your heart trust me

That sums up how I feel about individuals who abandon animals on the side of the road. I commend you for taking the kittens home with you a feral kitten would of ripped you apart. I hope you can find homes for them.

So very true, those my husband served with adopted most of the stray dogs and cats and the spouses would send food and pet stuff. Those whom relieved them on rotation often followed suit. Several British Soldiers took dogs home with them. Not a place for the faint of heart.

I never had a cat before but you see some here in the alley I'm not sure if someone owns them or they are strays. I used to have a cocker spaniel and a rabbit before it was funny they would always play together and the dog never hurt the rabbit.

Probably not. I"m too old to run fast enough to catch a feral kitten. ;)

Awwww.

What's with people and being evil to kittens? I used to chat with a friend in Alaska who is allergic to cats.

So she decided to poor Anti-Freeze into their 4 kittens food dishes and drop them off in the forest behind her house.

I haven't talked to her since. I hope she burns in hell.
