Fig your right on. I absolutely LOVE my ISP. If they are going down I get an email notification beforehand, their help system is A++, they provide NewsService with download speeds up to 10 mb per second. They are awesome. In four years I think they've been down two or three times and always between 3 and 6 am when I should to in bed.

:( I've been with telus for over 5 years now and never been off-line that I can recall. If it ain't broke, don't fix it ! Several of my family & friends switched over to telus and a quite happy with everything.
But that may be changing for me soon. I will be moving about 120 km. s.e. of Edmonton. Right now all that is available is 'dial-up'. Within a year telus will be putting in broadband.
Does anyone have any REAL experience or able to offer any proven alternatives? Thanks

I am currently on Shaw. I don't really have troubles, my router does crap out from time to time, but I fix it on my own and most of the time, it's just my router. I don't mind shaw much at all, as long as my computer is connected to the internet during the time of night/day i'm up and able to compute..thats' all that matters to me.

you also might want to look into uniserve (Formerly known as interbaun) as an added ISP option for Edmonton.

You could get an aircard and go wireless, you need a telus mobility acct and if you can get cel service then you can connect,a bit faster then dial-up.

when you live in the sticks... you get 28.8 telus dial-up ... if you don't like it, you can tie a string and a tin can, and get higher speed, but some sites don;t open... if you call them and complain about the crap service?... they say we're sorry sir, but your service is working to it's optimum, and please stop annoying us... the future looks friendly for them maybe...

TELUS.... and we'll ignore you
