I rant, bare with me......
So here we go, another bullshit company that is pretending that they give a shit about the environment.
IKEA signed a fleet car deal with Skoda for over 100 cars, are they environmentally friendly? ummm NO, their reasons were because they were affordable and looked good. If they are so concerned about the environment why not hybrid cars in their fleet? They were out then.
What I can't wait to see is some granola eating, environmentally friendly hippy in their Toyota Prius shop at IKEA and try to fit their new bookcase and bed in their tree hugging car. Will it fit? Of course not, they will need to go in the store and get it delivered by the IKEA fleet of trucks that will spew more shit in the air than if the hippy picked it up themselves in a Hummer.
A few other points, If they cared that much they would build product that lasts more than one move or one year, depending on which comes first. They are the creators of disposable furniture. Also to add one more points, I have assembled some IKEA furniture at friends houses, do you think they have any clue how much Styrofoam they put in their packaging? INSANE!!
Summary
A complaint was made in about a new type of Billy bookcase. It involved a possible health risk from formaldehyde.
Even now, despite several prompts from myself, IKEA have provided no reassurance that the product is safe.
Each prompt from myself leads to a polite letter or phone call from IKEA promising to do safety tests on the product and to let me know the result, but every time the promises remain just that, promises; the tests never start, and as far as I know have still not started. The last such promise was on 21st January, but, as usual, I have heard nothing from them since.
IKEA have twice before had problems with formaldehyde being emitted from their products. One one of those occasions there were newspaper reports about it following which IKEA did take action.
Formaldehyde can cause serious health problems, particularly in those too young to complain, e.g. babies who might have such furniture in their bedrooms and yet sleep there night after night, being unable to communicate that they feel ill.

Now, lets all get out there and park our SUVs in their "fucking save the earth" green spots. HYPOCRITES!!!
P.S. Shouldn't the green spots be in the back of the lot? Why would you make the gas guzzlers drive more?
