I am so annoyed with a friend of mine. This evenign she calls me freaking out because her computer has died and wont even turn on and she has not backed up her dissertation for the last 100 pages. I was like are you fucking kidding me??? I save my work every paragraph or so and I back it up every time I stop working on it for a day or two. If you dont back up your work and you lose everything its nobodys fault but yours. She was totally freaking out and I can understand why, but she has a bootable CD that should allow her to transfer her work to her jump drive or email it to herself, but of course she is too freaked out to try that, she thinks it will erase her hard drive. Like seriously, what are you expecting, its not a freaking magnet. SO tomorrow she is just goign to take it in to be repaired, umm, apparenly she doesnt realize that there is a good chance they will have to reformat. Ugh stupid peeople annoy me so much!!!!!!

ANd just to make it better, and this is probably why I am mad rather than more sympathetic and didnt go over to her house and fix it myself, she was supposed to help me with my essay tomorrow because I cant seem to get SPSS to run the data properly, but now of course there is no way that she has time to help me. SO she blew me off today and said she would do it tomorrow, and now she cant spare an hour to do it tomorrow so my essay due Thursday will jsut have to magically make some data appear.

I know I am being selfish, but I just dont appreciate all that I have spent so much time helping her with her work over the last few weeks and she cannot spare an hour to help me run this data. It wont make a difference to you computer if you wait a few hours to get it repaird, or if you dont jsut sit by the phone and wait for the guy to call you back. Ahhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol thats funny. I would be pissed if a prof did that, but since the first day you touch a comp people tell you to save and back up your work so if you dont too bad.

True - reminds me of the old Psychology class trick... the Prof tells everyone to THOROUGHLY read the entire quiz before starting it. Some people were out after about 15 min while others were stuck for about 40.

There was a note at the bottom of the last page.

"If youve read thru this BEFORE you started it please wait 15 min, look busy while your sitting there, then hand the test in and leave."

that was a LONG 40 min.....
