Recently I have noticed that a number of threads initiated by my fine self appear to have vaporised.
Could there be an explanation?
I suspect so.
The first to disappear was titled: "A week in the life of" posted in Rants & Raves per board rules, it was satirical poke at Rev_Blair who has on many occasions here and elsewhere threatened to quit and take his peculiar collage of teenagers with him. That is what happened in this instance - complaints to a particular moderator who removed the thread without explanation.
The next thread to vanish without a trace was "Decline of Canadian Culture" wherein I simply posted "Stay tuned" with the intent of writing a searing article on exactly that. The same moderator removed this thread without explanation.
The third thread to be abducted was "Handles' also posted in Rant & Raves per board requirement taking a poke at another poster and addressed by the senior moderator who stated the point I was making was in fact valid. The same moderator removed this thread without explanation.
The fourth thread to be demolished was something to do with interpretation of the Koran posted in General where I posted a learned academic's exposure of what the Infidel can expect from extreme Islamists. The same moderator removed this thread without explanation.
Prior to his request to become a valued member of the previously fair and reasonable team of moderators, this particular forum member had a number of go rounds with me wherein it became quite evident I was getting under his skin (q'uelle surprise eh wot?).
However, it appears he is not a big enough person to leave his personal feelings behind and moderate, as he assured the board owner and senior moderator he would, and moderate in a fair and equitable fashion.
Rather he appears fixated to the point he can no longer live by or abide by the very assurances he provided the board owner and finds himself skulking about deleting my threads in their entirety but not those of others some of which are truly offensive in the extreme.
Royal Highlander to the best of my knowledge has always conducted his spankings in public and/or via private message, sometimes locking controversial threads but to the best of my knowledge not deleting threads in their entirety. Not so in this case - not a word, not a message via pm or the supplied email address.
This owner of this board, in order to recoup and hopefully make a profit relies in large part on what appears to be a burgeoning commercial undertaking. To that end, visitors and posters alike are wanted and encouraged to drop by and/or become members and post. As evidenced of late is a number of posters purchasing various items and contributing to his goal to offset the price of a newer, faster, sleeker server and the best of luck to him in his endeavors. But the point is, it requires numbers - of visitors, members and posters to drive it.
This particular moderator takes away from exactly that by succumbing to favoritism, dislike, perhaps hate and the inability to suffer contrary and frequently controversial opinion.
So what's up with this strange, unusual and weird behaviour. Is it a case of
de Clerambault's syndrome run amok to the detriment of what appears to all intents and purposes a successful board?
As posters subjected to the various rules and regulations of a privately owned forum I/we expect from the moderators, equitable treatment - that clearly is not the case with this particlar individual.
