I like to rant a rave. Recently I rant alot about the U.S. And here it goes again. Why is it that they want to impeach a president who fools around but not one who lies to their people? I think messing around behind your wifes back is not as bad as lying to your country about weapons of mass destruction then killing thousands of innocent people just to get all your buddies contracts to rebuild a country that you've just destroyed. I think I know where Americas priorities are. Drumming up business. They get to build bombs to blow people up, they get oil, and they get to rebuild a country. It's good for their economy. Fortunatly not all Americans fall for it. But if they speak out against the war they're labelled anti-american. But isn't freedom of speach something americans cherish? They always say "why do they hate us?" then invade a country and torture their prisoners.
It's not Americans that are bad, it's there government. I hope next election the Republicans dont get in. Everytime there's a Republican party in power everything goes to shit. It's the same here with the PC party.

I think the tide is starting to change in America. Sure there's alot of people who are diehard conservatives, but I think the other side is getting very pissed off about Bush. People wanted to get rid of Clinton because he messed around, yet people want to vote for Kerry just because it's not Bush. That is how much people hate george bush, that they would vote for Kerry just because he isn't Bush. Bush's numbers are falling again. The sad thing though, is if you watch the news programs, they are already giving more positive press to bush, more negative to Kerry. There's conservatives that are my parents age who think Kerry is evil, and that Bush has morals and is someone who relates with Americans. What's really pissing me off is these republicans going around talking about how Reagon won the cold war. Reagon didn't make Nato, which was instrumental to winning the cold war. The Soviet Union fell because of a system that didn't work. I actually saw Ann Coulter on Fox News the other day saying that donald Rumsfield was the best defense secretary ever. What a bunch of bullshit. The problem with the republicans, is that they are passing the blame off on everyone else with their Iraq mistake. It's all Clintons fault that we have terrorism, it's all the democrats fault that Iraq isn't going well, and so on. You could probably read quotes from people like Thomas Paine to alot of these moralistic neoconservatives, and they would proclaim whoever said the quotes to be an idiot. That is how well alot of people of the US know the founding fathers and what the country stands for; they would actually think that things Thomas Paine said were stupid. I think if the founding fathers saw the 2 party, moralistic, non-acceptance, government of today, they would be very pissed off.

It's funny...Evan Solomon was interviewing an autor on Newsworld on the weekend (think it was a repeat actually). The author has written 17 books on Winston Churchill. The guy pointed out that Churchill was blamed for the failure at Tripoli, well before he was PM. The result was that when Winnie became PM he had a strict policy that everything had to be written down...it was okay to fail as long as you explain why you failed and took responsibility for it...and the people must be told the truth.

I don't see any leaders like that around today, especially in the Bush administration. If things are written down nobody is allowed to see them and nothing is ever the fault of anybody in charge.

When that last chopper takes off from the roof of the Iraqi embassy maybe the Bush supporters will start looking around and discover that they need leaders that tell the truth and take responsibility,

Yeah, should hope things for some reason do go well in Iraq, because if you remember the number of vietnamese dead, I don't think the Iraqis have something good to look forward to. I think there's a difference between the Iraqis and Vietnamese though, because now Americans are being able to return to vietnam and it actually seems like relations are becoming warmer with vietnam. I can never picture things being good with Iraqis if Iraq turns into a vietnam and the Americans end up leaving.
