Nope that’s the real thing; it was made to compete against Teresa Heinz Kerry's non American ketchup.

Quote: W Ketchup would like to thank President Reagan for his selfless service to this nation.
Reagan won the Cold War, let private enterprise flourish, and most of all made Americans proud to be Americans again.
“We look for that fine day when we will see him again, all weariness gone, clear of mind, strong and sure and smiling again, and the sorrow of this parting gone forever. May God bless Ronald Reagan and the country he loved.”

Those people must have been smoking a major big crack pipe when they thought of that ketchup.

You go to a sub shoppe down here and you get asked if you want American cheese. WTFO? What make it so funny is that at some places it is orange like cheddar, and other places it is white.
These guys are too much. I would love to have a sub with some American cheese and American ketchup, with a rifle on the side - please.

It is a good idea to associate the name of you country with your product, look at Molson (before Coors was involved) or Roots? It at least encourages more patriotic individuals to buy that brand over others. All that being said, are we sure that isn't a joke? It certainly sounds like one, and either way i am laughing so it's all good.
