I have made a few references to bad room mates in the past but I never really got into detail because well it is a long story. But there is a reason I dont trust room mates, there are several reasons, 4 years worth to be exact, here are some of the problems I had:

1st year: I lived in the school res, this was actually the best place I have been so far but it definately did not seem that way when I was there
-the first day most of my floor got together in the lounge and were making fun of me because apparently I was too young to be there, I was 17 and a lot of them were 19
-my room mate listened to only u2 24/7
-beer bowling, this can be fun on a Saturday night, but on a Thursday at 3am when you have class on Friday mornign is very irritating
-having people come and lick your door when they are drunk, eww!

2nd year, first semester: lived with two law students and a sociaology major
-they poisoned my cat
-spoke spanish around me
-took my tv
-threw my dishes in the backyard
-dumped my plants out of their pots
-accused me of rediculous things like peeing on a tea towel!
-were always using my things and going into my room when I was not there


2nd year second senester:
-the landlord was faking our utility bills and giving us ones from the year before
-he would only take cash for the utilities and then woudl say that we had not paid him
-the girl who lived there insisted on having my rug in the kitchen and then spilled black liquid all over it
-the utilities were so expensive that we had to keep the heat really low and since my room was a converted sun room, I often wore my winter coat inside to keep warm

3rd year:
-I found out that the girl who had been living in this house for 7 years, was on some antipsychotics and antidepressants, which to me explained why she would insist on us going across town for ice cream at 11 at night when the place was closed anyways and the next day be yelling at me for not washing my dishes asap and throw them with the dirty water on to the carpet in my room
-she was very large and liked to jump on my brand new bed and thus there is a dent in it which always annoys me
-her one cat would pee on my bed
-her other cat would puke everyother night so you had to watch very carefully where you walked and she would sometimes not clean it up for several days
-she insisted on us paying for cable tv which we did not want and then we could only watch it when she was not recording movies which she did several times a day
-she did not like her chrsitmas present so she wanted me to return it and jsut give her $20 instead
-she was constantly telling me that I needed to spend more money on everything
-then one of my other room mates, who was in the room next to mine, was one of themost superficial people Ihave met in a long time, but of course I did not find this out for a good long time
-she would complain all the time if I did not go out to clubs with her, then she would get so druink that I would have to carry her back
-she would always say that I was not wearing enough jewellery, or makeup or whatever
-when we would go out she would always speak bengali and I would have no idea what was going on
-she return to sendered my birthday present back to England, I cannot even describe how mad i was at that!!!!!!

4th year, first semester: I made the mistake of moving in with the girl who lived in the room next to me because I did nto want to move in with strangers again
-The third day me, her, and another girl we both knew were there they decided to have a party, I went and stayed at a friends house for the night because I was not in a party mood. I came back late the next mornign to find the place completely trashed. You can jsut imagine, and the worst part was that my laptop was missing, after I called heer and asked where it was she said it was placed in a safe place, wel when I foudn it, it was not exactly placed nicely, the screen now does not fight well on top of the base.
-They broke my digital camera
-they ate my food and drank my alcohol
-the new girl had a horrible, and I mean horrible stink
-they would use all of the dishes and then yell at me because I had not washed mine, wwhen really none of them were mine
-they would come in at 2am and turn on the light in my room and the music while I am tryign to sleep
-they would complain if I was doign the dishes while they were trying to study at the kitchen table
-One itme when I was on the phone to my dad one of them was behind me yelling, literlaly yelling ot the other who was about 15 feet away, when I wasked her if she could tone it down a bit cause I was on the phone she said it was her place and she could be as loud as she wanted and proceeded to get louder. SHe told me to go to my room but I couldnt because I was on my comp, and it was there.
-They would not help take care of the cat that they had wanted there, they would leave it if he puked for two weeks or more, and they would lock him in my room if they had company for several hours without food water, or litter box, and then go out and just leave him in there.
-for future refernce, the one of my room mate sthat I have known longer is hoey, and the newer one is stinky
-stinky left dirty dishes in her room so long that I found a glass onece with bugs crawling around in it
-hoey moved her bed in the middle of our room to be under the fan such that I could not get to my bed
-hoey would throw her dirty clothes on my bed and then deny it, even though thery were sitting right infront of me
-hoey would yell at me for having friends over ever
-stinky would go on and on about how much cleaning of our place she had done, but then it seemed like nothign was cleaned and the bathroom only looked dirtier
-they would fill the garbage and never take it out
-they would leave food in the fridge for so long that there were carrots that had actually turned blue
-they stole my bfs watch and backpack

4th year second semester (now)
-there are two people sharing one room and they are constantly yelling at eachother and two days ago he threw somethign and we all heard smash against the wall which really freaked us all out
-they keep having sex in teh bathroom
-he stinks, and it makes the whole hall stink
-the lesbian across the htall form me is very noisy when her gf is over
-nobody thinks of other people, they get up and slam doors all through the night, it is not that hard not to slam the door!

And that is why I dont like room mates and why I cannot wait to actually have a place of my own, not even iwth my bf, I want to actually have a place really on my own for at least a little while.

I once had a roomate who picked his nose and wiped his fingers on his jeans. This guy was 24 years old and didn't make any attempt to hide his nose picking. He freely admitted that his friends called him Mr. Green Jeans and even sounded a bit proud about that fact. Maybe he was just happy to have people he could call friends....

It's called 'payin yer dues'! Been there done that. Actually I've lived in some camps that weren't that bad. A kik in the crotch and a slap upside the head, then when u have their undivided attention, you can explain the rules to them!

i'd been livivng in a res but nothing like that ever happened to me and everybody tried to mind each other's interests... only one of my neighbours did stink but she was from Africa and it was her natural smell, she wasn't dirty. Did you ever think why they did all the shit to you, Zoraja? well... except that all of them are freaks and morons

I did, but my friends that came over said they were insane too. Actually several of my friends wanted me to leave a few days early and stay at one of their houses so they could pull pranks. Almost let them. Vinegar on the pillow case, in the perfume bottle, and water bottles can be very amusing.

Damn. You've had all the roommates from hell, haven't you? I only share a bathroom with one other person, and she's the best. Quiet, cleans her share of the bathroom, and doesn't have all sorts of weirdos over at all hours of the night. I've got it pretty good.

hehehe...roomates. Gawd I hate them. I have two of them right now. One of them is my brother. They are both in their early 30's, and they are fucking imature slobs!!!

I am constaly cleaning up after them since they won't do a damn thing and I hate living in filth. All they do is play video games and smoke pot. Pisses me off to no end. I'll be out of there in less then a year.

Yeah that would get pretty annoying. But hey, since he is your brother, you can pull pranks on him, mess up his games, put things in his bed, soak his put in vinegar. he he he, yeah, he might not like that.

I'm too old for that. Besides it wouldn't make living there any easier. No, I'll get my revenge whan I move out and then he would have to take care of himeself. Which he wouldn't be able to do, so he'll end up alone for the rest of his life.
