Very true Shep, but people are looking to them as entertainment when they really are looking at a particular political agenda wrapped up as a show.

It's all very Pink Floyd and the Wall.

Actually, I think people look for them as inspiriation when they offer nothing more than entertainement.

Kinda like the religion of the Jedi...

What a charming first post.

I thought it was pretty good.

Ann Coulter blah.

I’m sorry, and no disrespect to our American brothers and sisters, but Coulter, Beck, Stewart, Colbert, are the just right and left variations of the same theme.

These people gain a livelihood from being divisive and partisan. Some are more satiric, funny, acerbic and articulate than others but they share a similar purpose.

To make money and grab the limelight.

Big diffrerence between the first 2 and the last 2. With Colbert and Stewart it don't matter who fucks up, they will call them on it regardless of party affiliation, and give us a laugh in the process.
With Beck and Coulter, these two fuckwits think they are God's personal mouthpieces sent to preach about the evils of Democrats. They make me laugh too, though I'm sure that's not their intention.

I don't see any real differences besides one lot is wittier than the other. "Agenda" is written all over all four of them.

I don't see it from Colbert or Stewart. They both have slammed the Reps and Dems pretty good.
Who do you think they were using for fodder when Bush was President?
And neither of them have any issue with having a go at Obama either.

The only partisanship I can see from Colbert or Stewart is their almost unrelenting assault on the Tea Party. And let's face it, the Tea Party has continuously supplied plenty of ammunition.

Stewart and Colbert are more comedian than pundit to me, and damn good at it too. Beck and Coulter? I'm still trying to figure out if they're real.

I have my ideological disagreements with Stewart and Colbert, but I find them greatly funny. The only television I watch is comedy and this comedy is the closest (albeit incredibly far) to being on par with what I'm thinking about on free television. (I don't actually watch television, I watch the shows from thecomedynetwork.ca)

I don't watch Beck and Coulter because they are definitely not funny... They are kinda awkward. I don't know what they're doing. They say stupid things. Wrong things. And of course the political opposition makes me oppose their doctrines of nationalism anti-immigration pro-give-every-kid-a-gun with McCarthy like anti-communist propaganda (and it really is the most mindless drivel: any comparison between the communists and the fucking Democratic Party.) and just stuff I obviously disagree with.

Doesn't pertain to my interests.

Now I listen to opposing viewpoints... But I don't listen to this Third Red Scare BS, it's garbage

Anti-Muslim stuff is a phase, no one will talk about Beck and Coulter in 20-30 years, they are pawns of our times and the culture war created to keep the workers occupied. They'll find something new to hate in the future, and will continue to scream 'Communism!' in connection with their new enemy for some fucked reason. So I greatly hate them for the Anti-Muslim crap, but American racism dies down... Sorta. (Well not really) It becomes incorrect as a phase in Pop America and Beck/Coulter will disappear when everyone looks back in the mirror. Which also brings me to wonder, if we know this, why does it keep happening? We're supposed to stop the past from repeating itself.

Jon Stewart and Colbert?

...Probably will disappear soon too.. Maybe not.
