This is cool.I bet they wished they had these years ago. :o
Who needs mountains to ski?

I would like to get one of these chutes, could be fun on Crowsnest lake where the winds can hit 100 kliks, strap on the skates and away you go.

This is a ten minute video, watch enough to see the cute Innuit gal doing the documentary. She's a cutey!

:D Nice! Why only do it on water with a surf board? Great idea, looks like fun!

Their doing it on the frozen tundra, last I saw they did a 460 klik trek across the ice packing the same sleds the dogs usually do. :o I like how they say hockey is their #1 sport. 8)

Surprised I havent seen more of these around.
Maybe it's got something to do with the wind,I know it allways blows up there,if not at ground level then 30 feet above and its constant.

There building Canada's biggest mountain resort here shortly and its right on the shores of one of the windiest lakes around(stupid developers, heh heh)might be a good opportunity to get into the rental/sales bussiness. I bet with skates on at Crowsnest lake you could hit 100 mph. 8O

Not much else to do,ride sleds, ride quads, some towns have 3 miles of road and they cruise up and down 24/7. Other then hockey, not much else to do.
Funny a Japanese guy came up with the idea while visiting there.

Looks a lot like kite boarding but on ice instead of water. Sounds like fun except for the brutal cold up North.

That could become our second National Sport. 8O

That looks totally awesome! Someone needs to put that in the next Canadian Tourism ad. That'll get people a little more interested in Canada. :D
