Donny, i personally thought that it was "our home and native land" as, not "our home on Native's land", but it isn't really clear when you hear it.

Quote:
"our home and native land"
is lyrically correct.
Quote:
"Our home on Native's land!".
is historically correct.

Lyrics can change, history is made up of facts.

I don't know how people can not remember the lyrics. Thats one reason I loved my elementary school (kindergarten through grade 7). Every Monday morning we would have an assembly where we'd start off with the national anthem. For about the first few months, I'd read and sing it off the wall next to the giant Canadian flag. I had it memorized 100% by about halfway through kindergarten.

It seems now however, the National Anthem is only sung at sports matches, Olympics (an extension of sporting matches), and during very special occasions. I actually miss every monday singing the Anthem.
[All the other CanadaKA memebers are gonna yell at their screens at me here]
I feel so old. The last year I sung the anthem at our assembly regularly was in grade 7. Being as I'm going into grade 12 now, oh how the good ol' days rolled passed and left me a non-National Anthem singing old man. It seems like so long ago. I'm so old! 18 in 5 months, my youth is over. Better start looking for a nursing home for myself!

I can see some members throwing their keyboard about now "Dumb little whipper snapper, he ain't old...I'm o.....not I'm not old! I'm in my prime! Honey, can you bring me my prune juice?"

Well that was fun. I think the anthem should stay as it is!

You young whippersnapper, you. Why when I was back in school...

Actually we listened to the national anthem every day until the end of grade twelve, right after the morning prayer (Catholic school 8O )

I can't remember for sure...maybe Zen does...but I think Red River still played the anthem before general assemblies and so on.

I don't think the anthem should be touched. No reason to change it.

The anthem is dandy as it is, but never say never...you could hear a much better version tomorrow.
