No question. And that distinction is even made in the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Pot smokers and lobbyists alike are quick to emphasize the differences between dangerous drugs and pot. Once law enforcement gets on board with that distinction they'll be able to focus their efforts on the dangerous drugs and its traffickers and leave the hippies alone.

Ha, ha. More to the point. I've known a lot of pot smokers in my life. Some of them have been lazy, many of them have been normal people other than their desire to get high all the time. Funny thing is, if I drank beer as much as the people I know smoke pot I'd be called an alcoholic.

Maybe you should talk to someone about your alcoholism? My take on pot use (or alcohol use) is that if you like to get high/drunk and it's not adversely affecting the other aspects of your life (finances, family, work, health, etc) then it oughtn't be criticized. Of course, everyone handles things differently. There are a lot of fat folks that shouldn't eat cheeseburgers.

If you scroll back up a few posts, you'll see a "LOL-smiley" right after the phrase that prompted you to ask me to read more closely.

Goes to show that te people who use drugs recreationally are perfectly capable of being functional contributors to society. So by all means let them have the stuff.

People who use pot maybe. There's a big difference between using pot recreationally and meth or coke.

Oh fuck yes. Jail the coke and meth heads, they spread that shit, but I have no problem with people using pot the same way they use alcohol. Yes some people will use it to excess, just as they do with alcohol, and yes some people will drive while under the influence. But if these are reasons to get rid of pot, then why haven't we also prohibited alcohol?

Either way, I wouldn't smoke. That stuff stinks.

Well, I wouldn't jail any drug users. But I'd surely jail traffickers of dangerous drugs (and bootleggers of less dangerous drugs, like alcohol and pot, who supply children). And as for avoiding things that stink...do you avoid ALL things that stink?

Haven't quite finished it(had to watch my team get creamed), but this is an excellent Documentary on the subject.

People don't like being arrested for having harmless fun.

The piece in the middle that completely explains The Union's structure is my favourite.

(it's at about 2:20 in this part)
