Ignatieff expects longer meeting with Obama

Seriously? This is actual news?! A Top Story no less. This shit has got to stop, I really could fucking care less if Iggy wanted 15 min, 20 min, 30 seconds with a foreign President. Why the hell is this generating so much time in the media, is the news really that slow today? I'm just waiting for Obama's fall from grace; it's bound to happen, and then people will finnally be able to give up this idol worship.

lol, I was thinking the same thing when I saw this story. Leave it to the Liberals to once again act like they are still in power. However i will say it's a bit odd that Iggy's meeting is being scheduled at the airport. Harper could have showed a bit more class than that. Mind you, it may not have been Harper who made the arrangements.

Keep in mind that the article says "wants to". It's the media.. they've been playing up this "Iggy is just like Obama" crap for a month now.
I actually love this one:
Quote:
Ignatieff, who has close friends in Obama's administration

.. but now it's good to like, or even be an American? Last year, everything American was shat all over in the media and now it's ice cream.

I dont think Harper gives a shit personally, it was probably Iggy's people that set the meeting up.

It just looks pathetic really, "Oh I hope Obama meets with me for a half an hour, I do I do, he is sooooo dreamy." How long is Obama visiting for anyway like 6 hours? The hype over this crap is insane. I wonder if I could get a Tshirt with Obama's face on it, and in bold red letters it would say "I was at Obama's visit to Canada" while on the bottem it would say "and all I got was this crappy t-shirt."

During that visit, Bush spent almost as much time huddled with then opposition leader Harper as he did with Paul Martin, who was prime minister.

Sounds like the opposition meeting with the President is rather common...

Change the last line to
...and all I got was a 15 minutes meeting.

Then offer the tea-shirt to Iggy.

Is he going to meet with Layton, May and some of the separatist losers too?
Talk about a pathetic mob of suck-ups.

I think Layton, May and the cheese eating surrender monkeys plan on waiting outside the plane and screaming and crying like Beatles fans of old....

Iggy wants to be relevant. It's always hard for the opposition leader when a foreign leader visits.

Pretty much, Im sure Harper would do the exact same thing if the roles were reversed, what I am wondering now is; if the Coalition had actually went through who would the president be meeting?
