Warren Buffett says he made $62,855,038 last year, paid $6.9 million in federal income taxes

The billionaire investor disclosed the figure in a letter he wrote this week to Rep. Tim Huelskamp, R-Kan., that was obtained Wednesday by The Associated Press. Buffett and Huelskamp have been sparring over Buffett's call for higher taxes on the wealthy.

In a New York Times opinion piece this summer, Buffett had revealed that he paid $6,938,744 in federal taxes last year, or 17.4 per cent of his taxable income.

No need to do more math unless you're accusing him of tax fraud. Other than that you're using a news article to talk out your ass. Tax law apply to everyone evenly. So did he do something fraudulent to lower his payable taxes?

You're not really up on this story, are you? Buffet is complaining that he paid too little tax, because his rate on the 35 million taxable is lower than someone making 100k. And that people who averaged income of 227 million paid lower tax rates than people making those 100K. Are you really in favour of that?

So you want a cap on taxes, and if you make over a certain amount your tax rate actually goes down? Or if you pay a whack of taxes, on a whack of income, after a certain point, if you make more money, you don't pay any tax on it? You can't be serious.

And Warren is saying he wants to be raped. He's saying he should at least pay the tax rate that his employees pay. Say 35% on 40 millions means he would have paid 14 million in tax. You really think it's fair that someone making 100,000 gets to take home 65,000 of that, but someone making 7,000,000 gets to take home 5,800,000?
