It is rotating neither direction. The Animated GIF is designed with a slight flaw, where one half of the rotation starts on the right side swinging to the center and then you can notice it visually snap to the other side where the body swings from left to centre, thereby only swinging halfway on either side.
This is why for some it appears to switch from swinging one way to the other after looking away.
So what category does this put me under?


^ You might notice the slight shift when the feet come together, which is the centre point of both rotations.
(When the pointing out leg on the left side comes back to the middle, a frame is removed and you notice it pan quicker then when on the other side)In other words, when the arm/leg reach the maximum distance on either side of the animation, the frames reverse-animate back towards the centre and then repeats the other side of the animation..... so there's actually three seperate points of repetition
(ie: the center mark where the animation begins, and each maximum length point of the arms/legs per side of the animation.)If that makes any sense.
