Can't he celebrate Christmas at the same time we do?
No, he cannot, as it's a different calendar. Merry Christmas, PF, and a Happy New year. I was supposed to go to the St. Peter and St. Paul Russian Orthodox Cathedral for Christmas Mass, but I'm sick with the flu and don't want to pass it around.

Well, that's the Christmas morning in my city and Canadian last night Not so many people on the streets, most of everyone is at home))
The reavons are heathy and don't fall
A little bit of snow, for about -1 C, no cars and people at the city market.
The city town hall, and of cource it shows the time when I was there
The cuty church, many of people are inside of there, that's Ukrainian tradition to visit a church in Christmas morning (In few other countries too)
That's the main church of the city, inside it's is great too, but it's no allowed to photo there.
That's not the Santa The character is like Your Santa but he calls Grandfather Frosty (Дід мороз) and has a very long roots that are beginning from times of Kyiv Rus, he is the symbol of all winter fests here, In his hands it is a stick and he wears a red cape (Not paints as Santa). Every year a god sends him to the earth and when he arrives from the sky, he strikes the ground with his stick and it becomes frozen, lakes and rivers freeze. He has a brother. Saint Nickolas who cares about the children, gives presents at Nickolas day to those who were polite. He helps all the sailors who are in the sea, and as one old man whom I knew in Childhood was saying that he helps all legal and illegal Ukrainian emmigrants too because there is no noone else to help them(every third Ukrainian is abroad)but that's only joke (Caleb posted a picture of St. Nickolas here, maybe he was thinking that it is Grandfather Frosty (There you can see a song that children sing to him "Who loves St Nickolas, he helps him etc., . On the photo you can see a Grandfather Frosty, but he's too drunk for keeping his stick and probably forgot it in bar, and just look at his reaction when I was photographing him
The main Christmas tree of the city and Ukrainian flag on the wind, it looks georgeos
Have a good Holidays
