A thousand years from now it will be Merry Jesus Lennon Day, and everyone will gather around the transporter and sing "Give Peace A Chance".

Christmas is HUGE in Japan, even though only 1% of the population claims to be Christian. DD, you do realize that the X in Xmas comes from Χριστός(Kristos) which is Greek for Christ.

I didn't know that--thanks! +1

You're referring of course to St John of Liverpool?

I grew up in a secular family and remain non-religious, but I can remain an atheist and still find Christian music like carols and hymns to be beautiful, festive and moving.

In fact, all of my favourite Christmas songs are religious!

Who doesn't like Handel's 'Messiah' or 'O Come All Ye Faithful'?

I think this whole 'Christmas Conspiracy' to remove religiosity from the holidays is mostly hokum anyways, I don't think there's a real movement or agenda here, it's just become an issue because of general paranoia.

Your thousand year-old wrists? At least the music will be good.

Except that they don't really celebrate Christmas like most North Americans/Europeans...unless you eat birthday cake and buy a bucket of KFC and then hang out on the 25th with your friends.

Happy birthday Baby Jesus!

Actually, what I find fucking hilarious at this time of year is how many ppl are quite willing to encourage their children to believe in some fictitious fat dude in a red suit that flies around the world once a year on a sleigh pulled by magical flying reindeer, but get a little uppity when someone mentions God or Jesus in the Christmas context cuz "they aren't real".
