Quote:
The normally mild-mannered, or perhaps simply mild, Al Gore went off on a profanity-laced tirade targeted at those who deny the impact of climate change.

The former vice president was speaking at the Aspen Institute last week when he turned to the topic of those suggesting climate change is a myth.

"They pay pseudo scientists to pretend to be scientists to put out the message: 'This climate thing, it's nonsense. Man-made CO2 doesn't trap heat. It may be volcanoes.' Bullsh***! 'It may be sun spots.' Bulls***! 'It's not getting warmer.' Bulls***!" Gore says.

The impassioned speech from the Nobel Peace Prize winner continues, "There are about 10 other memes that are out there, and when you go and talk to any audience about climate, you hear them washing back at you the same c***, over and over and over again. They have polluted this s***. There is no longer shared reality on an issue like climate, even though the very existence of our civilization is threatened."

Gore has long been a champion of change in environmental policy. In 1992, the then-senator published his New York Times bestseller "Earth in the Balance" a book in which he proposes a "Global Marshall Plan" for dealing with environmental issues. In 2006 he wrote and starred in the Oscar-winning documentary "An Inconvenient Truth," a film that focused on the effects of global warming.

Here are audio of excerpts of his speech. As suggested in the quotes above, it's a little NSFW.

So while there hasn't been a disastrous rise in sea levels like Al Gore once predicted for last year he has managed to have a melt down.

All I have to say is... ROTFL and [but]

Good for him!

I never cared for Gore or the inconvenient truth because I knew the science of AGW anyway, but it's nice to see some real passion from a politician for once.

The audio clip is hilarious, btw.

Lacking passion hasn't been a problem for politicians in the States, especially Gore.

Not in that photo, but maybe elsewhere. With Bill busy with the interns, I'd hope Hillary would look for some on the side.

This reminds me of when a reporter made the comment one too many times to Buzz Aldrin that the moon landing was a faked. Buzz Aldrin clocked him one.
