Well, the racial hatred of Nazism is an interpretation of Darwin works.

The extermination of a supposedly inferior people (Jews) for purposes of advancing racial hygiene is an idea with roots in Darwin’s Descent of Man: ""At some future period, not very distant as measured by centuries, the civilised races of man will almost certainly exterminate and replace throughout the world the savage races."".

Evolution News
It would be difficult to describe the Discovery Institute as an unbiased source of news on Evolution.

Darwin was antisemitic and his ideas were the base of the philosophy of nazism.

You can be for evolution but against Darwinism.
That's like blaming Beethoven and Wagner for the Nazi.

Yeah, Darwin is a great villain in history. Do you blame J.D. Salinger for killing John Lennon? I've read some stupid shit during my 3 months on CKA, but that is, HANDS DOWN-AHEAD OF SOME OF THE DUMB SHIT LYNNE SAYS, THE DUMBEST GODDAMN THING I'VE READ ON CKA. You're OBVIOUSLY getting a negative reputation point for that one, Proc.

Then there is a third view. Creationism may be a "warped" illogical world view dependent on faith for what cannot be proved but Darwinism is equally so. Darwin apparently put together many of his theories on world evolution without venturing more than a few miles for where he lived while ignoring fossils of sea creatures and other animals that did not evolve at all over thousands of years. Darwinism has become as much a religion for the less scientifically aware, as creationism has become for the born-again Christians.

Take a hike. Creationism is religious dogma unsupported by any evidence. Intelligent design is creationism wrapped up in pseudoscience to make it seem less religious so it can be forced into schools by zealots. Evolution (NOT DARWINISM) is a well supported scientific theory and is the bedrock of modern biology. Even if Darwin never ventured far from his home, he did not need to. Evolution can be seen everywhere. Just because a fossil shows little change over even millions of years does not disprove evolution. There is just one best explanation for the descent of the species and that is evolution.

Someone might see some humour in the contradiction of the photo you are using and what you are saying about evolution.

And someone might be trying to sidestep their own complete inability to form any kind of argument on the topic by tossing in a red herring. Be gone.

I doubt he meant "unassailable truth" either. Rather, I suspect he meant "patently observable". If you've also read his work "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors", he cites several examples, such as sickle cell anemia in the Caribbean. His examples of Samurai crabs, etc in "Cosmos" is also compelling. I agree with you on the tenuous use of the word "fact" in general the lexicon.

My favourite Darwinian type read was "The Orchid Thief" (brilliantly adapted into the movie "Adaptation").

I believe in Flying Spaghetti Monster and Cthulhu. Together, they could rule America.

Yeah, but the important question is: Is the FSM just a happy spirit or is he the omnipotent creator, knowing all and overseeing all that was, is and will be? Eh, Mr. Smartie pants, eh!
