Kinda helps us to feel small and insignificant. Though I'm sure theres some science involved in their conclusions I'm going to dismiss them based on the fact that by the time it happens as they say I and my decendants will be long gone.

Here's a thought, maybe the Aztec only did their calander upto 2012 becaue there was Tlachtli game on that night or something and they just never got around to coming back and finishing it. It's not like they put "THE END OF THE WORLD" at the end of their calander or anything.
