I wonder if we could make the moon 'lighter' and bring in back into phase rather than regulate the ocean tides with massive dams.

If we had no moon, the Americans would have had to fabricate landing on Mars.
Good find Scape.

I watched the mythbusters episode on the fake moonlanding conspiracy, yesterday. They busted it right open.

I don't know. I watched the documentary about it with both sides giving their points and they both had relevant points, so I'm not 100% convinced yet.
But if I remember correctly at the very end NASA said that a Japanese moon orbiter was going to be over the exact same spot the US landed and left the flag and other stuff and they'd be able to show the pictures as proof of the landing.
Well the Japanese probe went up and still nothing, yet this was supposed to happen about 2 years ago. I wonder why not, since it would definately end the debate?

Is that Captain Picard I hear?
I love it when you hear different Star Trek characters being a part of voice overs.
Anybody play Civilization IV with Spock?

If we had no moon, there would be no tide, the oceans would rapidly stagnate and we would rapidly die. If the earth had no obliqtiq, there would be no seasons, we would die. The inticacies of our solar system are absolutely staggering, the odds that they came about by chance - zero.

While Moon Conspiracy Theorists raise some good points, not only did Mythbusters bust it wide open, but I also saw a program on Discovery where they proved that the moon landings were real because astronauts left metal reflectors on the lunar surface. Scientists flash a series of lasers at these reflectors which bounce back and tell us how far the moon is moving away from us.
And about the video, instead of strapping rockets to Enceladus or Titan or which ever moon it was, why not strap a rocket to our moon and push it into a completely stable geosynchronous orbit instead?
