Here's a link a PBS documentary.... It's called Magnetic Storm... apparently it happens every 10,000 years but it is 250,000 years and it appears we are due as the last one was 700,000 yrs ago...
Certainly worth watching... Maybe Al Gore & David Suzuki should be made to watch this...

Happens every 10k years, but hasn't happened in 700k? Either their Math is wrong or when it does flip it'll instead just cycle, constantly flipping. This could be the answer to our Energy needs!!!
